Are Chicago fans not as bad as we thought?

They chanted "Detroit Sucks" at their Cup parade, when we didn't even play them in the playoffs. Yeah, I'd say they're as bad as we thought.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/puck-daddy-chats-red-wings-pavel-datsyuk-nhl-152127707.html Enjoy. Be warned the last few lines may cause slightly leaky eyes.

He's below Nyquist, Tatar, Andersson, Connor and probably Brunnstrom on the depth chart. It IS a stretch to think he'd ever be called up this season to play.

Lol no way. The Blues are primed to lose in the first round. They don't have enough playoff experience on that team IMO.

No comments about the first paragraph or the second? Just that they're douchebags? Edit: I guess I'm all alone here, but I thought the guy's post was spot on.

They played well with the exception of Datsyuk, they all did about what they are supposed to do. Zetterberg looks like himself and even Conks was good. Don't know what Datsyuk was thinking on the OT goal, not sure what he saw to make him double the dude coming over the line, you knew they would send it to the open and then bam its in the net. He'll be fine, everyone makes mistakes. I don't understand the panic on this board, when healthy they can play with anyone and have proven so. When guys go down your team is going to get worse and if you lose 8 or 9 guys your going to lose a bunch of games. The starters are the starters for a reason.

No, and no. ALL GM's have passed over players who have turned out to be really good in the NHL. Doesn't mean they are incompetent or should be fired. It means their job is really hard and nobody knows the future.

To tell the truth, yes, yes I would. Want to know why? Because at least the games we've played lately have actually happened. So I can say factual things about them and not have to speculate about who Kenny's going to sign, and for what money, and how they'd fit on the team. Which is all just made up gibberish, and it never pans out anyway. NOBODY on this board ever correctly guessed that the Wings would sign White, Commodore, or trade for Quincey. Not one person (including myself), for all the talking that took place. So all this speculation is just sort of like fantasy hockey...or masturbation.

First off it was a very nice evening win lose or draw. Rangers fans were in good form and were very welcoming last night towards their Original Six brethren. A lot of them just wanted to talk Western Conference matchups and hockey in general. MSG made a big deal out of it being an Original Six matchup with two nice video pieces; One on the history of the octopus in Detroit before the game and a nice video on Gordie Howe between the second and third periods. Honestly for being as banged up as they are (a point not lost on many Rangers fans, in fact two said if this game is this close now at MSG, they worried what a healthy Wings team or western conference team might bring) I thought they played hard in the corners and stood up to a top team in the east who plays that style. I saw some reason for hope in the Wings last night, I did. If they can challenge the top team in the east on the road and lose only in OT, they'll be OK if and when they get healthy. Onto the pics and a video clip of Zetterberg's goal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g6LayP4ACc&feature= Defending a Rangers rush Quincey moving the puck up the wall Action packed....or not The Abdelkader line creates a chance The draw It's been very foggy here at night lately and walking to the train last night I was able to snap this one. Fog makes any picture better.

Haha completely agree with you. Most my friends are Leafs fans or Habs fans and all they do is complain that us Wings fans are bandwagons. It saddens me to say that yes there are a lot of bandwagon Wings fans who LOVE them while they are playing good, but if they have a bad game, are put on the Americans most wanted list on these forums. Take Zetterberg as a prime example. Earlier in the season, everyone was BASHING him nonstop... past his prime, worthless and there were even threads made suggesting to TRADE HIM! Now that he has found his game, those SAME "fans" are praising him and love him again. Then there are those fans that supported Hank all along and knew he would find his game. We as fans need to come together to support our team through Great times AND BAD TIMES... that is what fans do. Mark my words, Nick will be back Saturday and the Wings will get back to business on the winning side.

I agree with your assessment. I really think it will take some of these players that are coming back from injury a little time to get their groove back. At the same time, that won't stop their detractors from crapping on them while they aren't producing. Some of the members of this forum really make me sick sometimes. The negative nancys, the bandwagon fans that say they love the team in one breath and that they are sick of watching the team the next, and so on. These are not fans, and this forum is no longer populated by true fans of this team. There are too many whining entitled dorks that I am, quite frankly, sick of. The only thing that keeps me around these forums are the members who do have that passion left to root for their team through thick and thin. Those members are hard to come by though. Which is why, when the Wings fall on hard times, the bandwagon fans will hopefully jump off and run to another team and ***** on their forums.

Even though we lost good effort tonight. Got a point at least.

They bounced back from the utter s***fest that was the last game. I KNOW they were never behind in this one.

100% agreed. He really looked like he was getting gassed quickly. Maybe they rest him Saturday.

I thought the Wings played well considering what they had. Conklin played very well.

Much better than I expected, too bad for the loss.

Even though it was a loss, it still was a heck of a game. Here's to the Wings carrying that same energy for the next few games and the playoffs!

Everyone saying it's his line mates needs to get a clue. How about Dat's linemats why aren't they ripping it up with all their feeds huh? I think people don't like to give credit where credit is due. Yes line mates help but in the end you need to finish. Neal can finish.

    Crosby

Why does Datsyuk have to have more points than Crosby in order to be considered to be the best player in the league? Datsyuk gives up points to play defense. Crosby does not. This an old argument. One that used to involve Yzerman and Lemieux and Gretzky. Who's better? A player with 199 points and doesn't play defense? Or a player that gets 155 points and helps prevent the puck from going into his own net? I don't necessarily know if there's a right answer to this, it really comes down to preference. The people that think Datsyuk is better believe that if he played Crosby's kind of game, he would have more points, while if Crosby played Datsyuk's style, he wouldn't do as well as Datsyuk is now. Personally, I think Datsyuk is better because he's more valuable when going for a championship. Defense plays a huge part in the playoffs and scoring machines typically get slowed down in the postseason.

    Crosby

I still take Datsyuk one-on-one against anyone in the league, including a 100% healthy Golden Boy. esteef

Do the Pens Have the Cup Locked Up?

Are we even sure that Crosby can stay healthy for more than 10 games? How do we know that he'll hold up to the physical grind of the playoffs? I'm sceptical.

well said. the Pens can run into a cyborg goalie with massive shoulder pads and no five hole in the first round and get swept even though they may be a "superior team"... Personally, I hope they play the Flyers and get swept in the 1st round. I'd also love to see the Canucks, Coyotes and Sharks depart in the 1st round as well and then i'm pretty much good with who wins the cup.
