Hey now, Bleacher Report is good for offering a way for joe schmoe to exhibit his or her contrived, uninspired, amateur writing. And that can be hilarious. Most articles read like if a real website let their writer and editor get hammered and only corrected the sdlkfjfjjjjjjjjjjjj from where they passed out on the keyboard. Really though I wouldn't take anything on that site seriously. It's just average joes who can't write worth a lick. They know how to try and kinda sorta make the words sound professional, but the content doesn't sound professional whatsoever. Too many ignorant forum-style opinions when those opinions only survive on forums because the like-minded gather to reassure each other.

Yeah you're right. High quality proven goaltenders in their prime come along all the time. Especially ones who could've conceivably, and should've, won ROTY. And ones that were in the Vezina race until they got injured. It's just that goalies in Jimmy's scenario don't get traded often. Vancouver is asking quite a bit for Roberto Luongo and I wouldn't say Howard is much worse. What doomsayers and debbie downers on forums fail to realize (aside from the fact they're almost always wrong) is that while they may have number online, in reality no one takes their mopey emo bulls*** seriously. Everyone but Hank and Pav suck, every other team has better players, blah blah blah.

I guess some people still don't understand the changes that were made in the 2004-05 lockout. A salary cap went into place, now trades are like they are in the NBA, mostly salary dumps. Look at the last 7 trade deadlines, they're nothing like they were before the 04-05 lockout. People seem to think this still the early 2000's when teams could spend and do what they want. It's a different world out there now. Teams need to draft and develop their own players. Even Free Agency isn't what it used to be, the maket is over inflated. Yes I'm being sarcastic, but I'm surprised that there's so many people that still don't understand how everything works. Holland can't make Chelios, Schneider, and Lang type trades anymore. Also signing Suter for 13 years is insane!

So far they've opened up practices to the general public (schedule here) and are starting a "fee free" presale through Ticketmaster on all home games starting the 17th. They will be emailing a password, which I will post here.

The teams will be mixed up, both teams having some NHL and AHL lines/d-pairs. Howard will bein goal and Gus in the other, doesn't seem like Mrazek will play. Which is fine, Howie and Gus are the ones who really need to get up to speed. I really, really hope some awesome human being streams this.

I'm curious. For all the people who are insisting with aggressive opinions that Yandle and/or Bouwmeester are elite/suck/average/etc...how many people actually consistently watch either of them? I know just typing "I dunno" isn't as fun but really how much do we know? I think the proof is all over the place. I've lurked around on a lot of Wings forums and if you want a good laugh, go look at some of the know-it-alls insisting smugly that Ian White was garbage and shouldn't be here. I saw people questioning Dan Cleary, with the usual illogical "well he sucked before, he can't ever be good somewhere else" stupidity. I've seen people chew crow on signings or trades so often I just laugh when we wipe our memories and have another go at playing pretend expert like it never happened. And for anyone who might actually watch either of the two consistently, not to sound like a dick but how many would even be able to judge their ability to play or fit in here? We can hardly even make up our mind about our own players. It's one thing to simply state what you think but it's hilarious when people pursue silly shouting matches over guys they don't even watch.

Could someone please start a separate thread about Game Center? I am really only interested in Center Ice info.

Guy hasn't even played a game yet, and already getting this treatment. He's a good player that puts up comparable numbers to Okposo, Foliginio, Riemsydk, Derek Roy, Latendresse, Hornqvist, etc.

Višňovský was traded the day before his NTC was to have kicked in? Now that's funny.

Holland needs to contact Visnovsky's agent to get him to agree to a trade from the Island to the Wings.

    The Power Play

won't happen. Plus he will never be as important on the PP as Homer was. We'll see what kind of net -front guy he turns into, hopefully he finds something to keep him motivated. 20-30 goals in 48 games would up his trade value!

    Wings Looking For Defenseman

Wings were the 8th best in goals per game, and Calgary was 6th worst. I don't think it's a stretch to say the Red Wings have a better offensive hockey club. Anyways, Bouwmeester's production isn't what I'd want him for, he helped the penalty kill a ton, something that is important for the Red Wings, especially with losing Lidstrom(who played about 1 minute a game), and Stuart(who was our main penalty killer). I just think he would flourish with the Wings, Calgary plays a passive, trap oriented system. The Red Wings transition game would translate better with Jbow's speed and pass. I just don't think it's a good fit with him in Calgary. I agree though, I really don't like his contract, but let's not act like Yandle's is much better, about 1 million dollars cheaper and 2 years longer.

1 year deal isn't too risky. still at age 35 and being 5 10' LH shot, we don't really need that rather than giving up a second that could be used to draft guys like ouellet and sproul
