They are irrelevant to game 3 sure, but they are very relevant to the way the Wings fans look at the game 3 goal...just as much as that was a game changer for us, the no goal against Anaheim was a game series changer for them. Same situation. The Wings have suffered enough of those blown calls that they feel its about time they got one in their favor. That is why they aren't feeling sorry for the Chicago fans. Welcome to the club Chicago, we feel ya, but can't reach ya! Trying to get a Wings fan to change their mindset about this goal would be like trying to get a Chicago fan to change their mindset about their 1st goal...the informative fans probably say the same things about that goal as we do about theirs non-goal..."it happens, it was a missed call and Kane's goal shouldn't have even happened, but it did." They blew that call and they blew the no goal. If they would have called the penalty before Kane's goal, they wouldn't have gotten them momentum and the no goal wouldn't have even happened...It's my opinion if the penalty was called, the game ends in a shutout... BTW, refs blew TONS of calls all game long. I was particularly pissed at the flying elbow to Smith's chin in the 1st that wasn't even called a penalty NOR reviewed by the NHL...it was a headhunting BLATENT hit. But, he wasn't injured (or faked the injury) so it isn't suspension worthy....

I love that he was so prepared that he actually brought a spare picture of Mrs. Kane to use after the first one was confiscated.

I was just telling my girlfriend about this and she said, "well it is his mother, he has a right to be pissed". To which I responded, "well it is the Stanley Cup playoffs". She sighed and gave in.

God I love this so much. Best thing - after the 5th goal the crowd started cheering for him when he made a save. OMG.

I didn't say it did, I said I hate Radulov. Even though Helm was out for his MCL(?) and then came back, Rads took him out that game, and that's pretty much all he has played since minus the one game this year. Thus, I'm still blaming Radulov.

Yup. Between him, Sproul, Ouellet and Jensen it'll be interesting to see how these guys fair in 2-4 years along with Kronwall, Ericsson, Smith, Kindl, DeKeyser and Quincey. Plus there's still Almquist who I'm still holding out hope for-- he seemed to pick it up later in the season and is putting up alot of points in the playoffs for the Griffs so far. Oh, and can't forget about big, mean, nasty McKee...

Don't mind JR in the intermission. When he first retired and started broadcasting, I thought I would hate the guy. Sad to say it wasn't from his broadcasting that I first learned more about him. I actually sat next to him on a flight to Phoenix (he lives there, I was headed to work) during the 2009-2010 season when the Wings were really down and we had gotten screwed on a few goal/non-goal calls recently (remember those games against Dallas, anyone?). We started talking and he said he felt the Wings were down but (in his own words) said he hated seeing them get screwed and felt the league was really trying to push them out - he said let the play determine where they stand and if they miss the playoffs, it should be because of their play. I was shocked. Here was a guy that played his whole career against the Wings and was confirming what I saw with my own eyes but kept telling myself not to believe anything funny was going on. Anyways, we talked a while - turned out it was his 40th birthday and me and a couple of other passengers had a shot with him for his b-day. From that moment on I realized he is good guy and just someone that speaks what he thinks and doesn't really put agendas against anyone. His reaction on the air after the Hawks won the cup showed who he is. Rest assured, part of him will always root for Chicago, but he gives an honest view. Also, the further he gets from his playing career, I think the more un-biased he becomes. For the record, I hate Ezo and Pierre. Edzo can't hid his bias enough and Pierre just bugs me (although he does show some hype to a few of the Wings). Can't we get ANYONE besides those two?

This makes me sad. Especially when he's saying that when they guys are getting cheap-shotted that's when he wants to be out there the most. Just reminds me how much heart that kid has. I really miss Helm

Kids are definitely off-limits. Moms should only be used for pot-shots on the ice where the insulter can man up and defend his comments with his fists or his wit, as any good son will defend his mama. The pic of Howard was awesome. That needs to be repeated.
