Now please Holland, give him a winger that can put the puck in the net.

Hell of a two months for DeKeyser. Joins his hometown NHL team straight out of college, plays in his first NHL playoff games two weeks later, and then wins the Calder Cup six weeks after that.

This is GREAT! Such a unique talent and great all-around player. It hasn't even sunk in that I could get to watch him for longer than just next year. Igor Larionov was traded to Detroit in 1995 at Age 35. Think about that! I remember the radio stations blasting them for picking up "just another old guy" at the time - and think about how much he contributed to Detroit through 2003. No offense to The Professor, but Datsyuk is almost twice the NHL player that Igor ever got the chance to be. Such a cerebral player and in excellent physical condition. I've always gotten the sense that he could be productive in the NHL long after he "lost a step".

Good for them. I don't follow the team like others here, but I'm glad we have some winning prospects who will use this experience at the NHL level. I hope Tatar is finally "overripe" and can play for the big team.

CONGRATS TO THE GRIFFINS! AWESOME SERIES, BOYS! At least Nyquist, Tatar, DeKuyser, Andersson and Lashoff got to enjoy one Cup this year. Great job, future Red Wings! Jeff

I always think that too rather than Tater Tots!

That would be horrible if they lose this series. Crunch are up 1-0 in the first.

    Wings interested in Weiss

Filppula has one season with more than 20 goals and 40 pts. Weiss has four 20+ goal seasons and six 40+ point seasons. Weiss also is a career 50% faceoff guy, is noticeably faster than Filppula, shoots more often, plays stellar defense, and kills penalties. He's a MUCH better player than Filppula. I don't know if he's the answer to all of Detroit's offensive woes, but to suggest that he's not is a significant upgrade over Filppula is absurd.

This is longer than I expected. I really thought he'd only want to do a year or two at a time at his age. But, come on, we all know that real reason that he's staying in Detroit is so he can keep Dr. Rahmani. Thrilling day in RedWingsLand. And the people rejoice.

Leddy playing goal in tandem with Crawford. Desperate hockey already.
