I didn't read it as a funny comment. I read it as a serious valid point and a real consideration, as well as a poignant commentary on the state of the infrastructure over there, including significant aspects such as emergency medical preparedness at rinks, player medical coverage in general, etc. Especially coming from F Michael; dude is usually spot on with his insights.

Feds is just doing his job. Is he suppose to say "nah we don't want one of the best players in the world." He then went on to say he completely understands Pavel's decision. So even Fedorov knows which league is the best. He's just trying to make his team as good as he can. No biggie at all

That's what happens when you base your punishment on the result of the hit instead of the hit itself. An illegal hit should be punished as much if the other guy bounces right back up as it is if he's going to be out 8 weeks.

    Each NHL Team's Mount Rushmore

You know a lot more about NHL history than I do. The only thing I would change would be to add Garth Butcher on to Vancouver's. Mainly because he is an acquaintance of mine. Ha ha

Like it wasn't enough when they took my boy Bykov from us in 2003. I'll never forgive Russia for that.

Did we let one get away?

Meh. He never amounted to much for me in NHL 12, GM mode. Besides, we have no shortage of forward prospects his size. Only time will tell.

Fedorov would be an idiot not to reach out to Datsyuk and make an offer. It's not like he did anything underhanded. Even in the article he's professional and completely understanding of Datsyuk's decision. I don't get what people are up in arms about, other than already having a chip on their shoulder about Fedorov.

I don't see why any of this is negative. Feds was doing what his job entails and he even admitted he understood why Pavel made is choice, of course I don't have the same hate for Feds as many.

I don't believe for one second that it was a serious consideration for Pavel. The "meeting" was probably nothing more than a conversation like... Sergei: Hey Pavel, I would really be interested in having you play for CSKA Moscow next season. Pavel: No thanks /meeting Nothing more than PR spin from Sergei

    Schedule Release?

Metropolitan? Seriously? Why not something like Northeastern? Or if you're going to get away from geographical, why not Up There, Down There, Over There and Way Over There? I'd almost rather see Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Leonardo. Or Laa-laa, Dipsy, Tinky Winky, and Po. Ok, maybe not that last one.

Did we let one get away?

He was never offered a pro contract. And no, the Wings didn't let one get away. Far better prospects in the system that deserved pro contracts over him.

If healthy, he's shown he can put up some offense on occasion. He can skate a regular shift and is effective on the forecheck. If he can stay healthy, that is.Also, I highly doubt Chicago regrets letting Scott go. They're just coming off a Stanley Cup victory.

Or get rid of the instigator rule. Bring back the Proberts and Browns.

It would also help to teach kids to keep their heads up and how to take a hit. Most of the injuries I see from hits that aren't blatant attempts to injure are because the guy either has his head down and isn't aware or he tries to sidestep the hit and gets his knee wrecked.

I would not be surprised at all if total consussions actually decreased and it's just that the undetected concussions decreased that much more, which makes it appear as though concussions increased.....if you follow what I'm saying
