    Beard Time

Ladies and Gents. Desperate times call for desperate measures. It is early. But our team needs us. My last shave was the morning before our last game. I will not shave any longer until our season is over. Hopefully that will be during the post season. I just rubbed st Patrick's day tattoos of of my face and it stings a lot. I am also hammered, so I'm sorry if everyone hates this idea. But with the Wings in a playoff spot war, I'm starting my beard early this year. I decided to make this thread in case anyone wants to join in. If I'm out of line making this thread, I apologize to the mods. But I still believe. And for me the beard times have begun to show my support for the playoff push. Will post a pic later today when I'm sober, assuming I still have skin left after the temp tattoo scrub down. BELIEVE!!!!

I watched this at the gym this morning, mesmerized by the skill and raw courage and strength of all of these guys. They're all amazing. What a great game! I had people in the gym who do not watch NHL hockey stopping to watch and cheer... Of course, I was sporting my Red Wings gear.

It seems like energy is exactly what this team has been lacking lately. Plus it's not like the guy he's replacing brought a whole lot of offense either. So all in all this might be an upgrade to our roster.

Per Kahn "@AnsarKhanMLive: Bertuzzi is out for tomorrow with lower body injury. Day to day. Tootoo recalled, Holland said."

Canadians are well aware of The Rick Mercer Report, airing on the CBC. This is his first-hand account of what it's like to be one of these great athletes and the game of Sledge Hockey: Congratulations to Team Canada on their Bronze medal win!

My respect for these guys is through the roof. Hockey's a hard enough game to play with working legs and these guys just go out there and compete and play the game and it's awesome. For me, these guys are the epitome of not letting anything get in your way of doing what you love. Also, they're really good.

Toots was a factor in last years final week push to the playoffs and never should have been sent down for doing exactly what they brought him here to do. One thing we know for certain... every shift he will leave it all on the ice.

Way ahead of you. I stopped shaving a month ago hoping for a turnaround, so here we go. BEARD POWER!

One day it's gonna come out that the entire 3/26/97 game was staged. Like the moon landing.

Oh, please let him be playing in Minneapolis! I have to agree with GMR. Nothing like an impending court date to take your mind off work. Bert has seen his better days. He's not as bad as some people make him out to be, but we've seen from the Kid Line what an infusion of enthusiasm can do for a team. With Bert out, Tootoo provides the snarl factor that Bert has been providing by default. It's been a long, hard season with all the injuries. Maybe a fresh body and pumped up attitude is what we need.

This fight was for the fans. You know, the people supporting the team. I heard cheers. I saw sportsmanship and class. Best of all, I saw a great fight.

May as well use him if he's available, I agree with this decision. While I don't think he should be an every day player, I thought he should have played more than he has this season. He's not a bad player, I don't know why he has been overlooked so much.

Honestly aside from the few exceptions most fights are just to get some energy for the teams. In the NHL you see fighters pat the other guy on the back or see his lips mouth something supportive. They're putting personal safety aside for their teams, and know its dangerous. Those two were literally exchanging solid punches to the face for how long? It's awesome they were happy for eachother, who cares they acknowledged the good scrap after.

Just watched highlights, sick shootout goal by Datsyuk Jr ... aka Tatar.

That's what I like about this kid. He's not straightforward, cookie-cutter. He surprises you. I mean, what a statement. Tiny Euro sniper call-up steps onto our Big Men's League Roster and dishes one of the best hits we've put on all season. He looks like Kronwall there!

High fives and hugging aside, a lot of UFC fighters couldn't take that many bare fisted blows and stay on their feet. There were easily 10 hard connections per side that I thought were going to put the other guy down. Whatever on the display at the end, what a fight.

No, fighting has a place in hockey. These kind of fights are sometimes fun, but meaningless if guys are hugging it out like that afterwards. Fights due to bad blood or jumping in for fallen teammates are more fun and more meaningful.

Meh. Guys like Dave Brown or Bob Probert would never get that theatrical after a fight. I realize it's a job and some of these guys are close friends, but this is making the whole thing look like a joke.
