I'm conflicted on this. I'm sure most of you guys that have been there over the years are as well. On one hand, the place has turned into somewhat of an stinkhole. The Joe is embarrassing compared to many of the nice new arenas built within the last 10-15 years. It has this weird post-apocalyptic vibe to it. Until you sit down in your seat, anywhere. Then its magic. This new arena better help me forget the ol' Joe, thats all I have to say!

I hate how little respect they have in this country for stadiums and history. Maybe it's because the country hasn't been around for as long as others. A few years ago, Yankee Stadium was demolished. Boston Garden was demolished in the 90's. How can you get rid of those stadiums and all the history associated with that? In Europe, the most famous soccer stadiums have been around over 50 years. Some stadiums in England have been around over 100 years. Yes, those stadiums undergo massive renovations and look nothing like they did 50 years ago, but at least they're still there. When people go to those games, they can say they're in the same stadium so and so used to play at. I know things are done differently here, but I'm not a fan of tearing the JLA down.

I'll just go and snag a piece of brick when they demolish it. Frame it next to my old yzerman jersey.

I'll definitely be buying a seat if they sell them.

I'm going to try and go to a few more games. I'm going to miss the ole barn

Yes but you're comparing apples to oranges. A guy who grew under Babocks tutelage and one who is still relatively a newcomer. This could very well be Babcock showing Weiss, that despite his stature, despite his injury, he must earn every second of ice time.

You never know. Weiss has to be fired up and going to throw it all out there if he gets put in the lineup. The guy is playing for his career. I'd love to see him suit up against Toronto. He can atleast provide what Abby has in the top six. Even when Weiss was hurt last year he was good at board battles and face offs and he appeared to be skating better If Cleary dresses before Weiss I'm going to puke

Meh. The Joe is a dump. I disagree about there not being a bad seat in the house. I don't really associate the good memories of the Stanley Cup winning teams with the building itself. It's not like the Joe was Olympia or anything.

The only thing I can say about the Joe, is there isn't a bad seat in the house. And I've skated on the ice multiple times. Oh damn. I guess I am sentimental about it. Well... ****

I'm sure he thought after last season he would be on the opening night roster. He didn't get that benefit of the doubt from Babs. That's what lights fires. Not: it wasn't my fault, I was injured.

Jimmy had an awesome game. Smith was out best defenseman (again) Glendenning was noticeably good Zetterberg was noticeable off The Griffin line is going to keep on getting better. I like where we are right now... now let's get Pavs on the ice!

Really. Your going to bag on Howard for the shootout when he was the only reason the Wings got a point. Rremember that you have to score in the shootout to win. The Wings were just as bad at converting in the shootout as Howard was stopping them last year so dont put all those lost points on Howard. Look at the attempts by Boston compared to the attempts by Detroit tonight. Same thing as last year.

Penalty for getting too close to a player, goalies are allowed to be slashed, shoved and hacked away at in order to score though. Refs cannot call penalties against Pittsburgh
