I think this is disgraceful for the Devils. And I'm not blaming Marty. I'm blaming Lou. Everyone I know from New Jersey thinks Lou is great (Maybe I just know the wrong fans) but IMO he's mismanaged that team for years. The whole Kovy situation. Losing Parise. Losing Clarkson (for better or worse). And now cold shouldering the face of the franchise. Shameful. This just makes me that much prouder to be a wing. Maybe we hold onto old men a little while longer than we should, but the wings have certainly exhibited the utmost level of loyalty, respect, and classiness. Even if we don't always win, I'm proud that our organization operates in the highest level of standards.

I wish we would call up Callahan, and once Abdelkader is ready to come back, assuming everyone else is healthy, send Andersson down or trade him for a late round draft pick. Callahan has put in his time, and is still racking up points down in Grand Rapids. He is a definite upgrade over Andersson, and our 4th line would be much better with Callahan's speed, tenacity, grit, fore-checking, scoring touch, nose for the net... all things Andersson lacks.

Why not call up Callahan, since ya know, he does all the same stuff that Abby does for his respective team? PK, net front on PP, puck retrieval on top line, defensively responsible, gritty forechecker.

Cally is exactly the type of 4th liner that we need. Can score. Can grind. Tenacious. Hard-working. Andersson can't score and it'd be nice to see more scoring from our 4th line. Jurco's been better on the 4th than Andersson. He shouldn't have to play there, but still made better use of that time than Andersson has.

Prepare for the Jurco Ascension.

He just doesn't look right in blue. It would be almost the same to see Yzerman suit up for the Lightning.

Every time I say something isn't working on this team, they turn around and make it work. Inconsistency? They win four in a row. Too many centers on the team? Offense starts scoring like gangbusters. Powerplay's a mess? Top ten in the league. So I guess what I'm saying is...they will absolutely, positively, not win the Stanley Cup in decisive fashion in front of a home crowd while Kid Rock and I are in the front row (surrounded by strippers) getting hammered drunk. Nope, not at all.

Andersson is utterly useless. Get rid of him. Trade or waive him, I really don't care, just get him off the roster. Like I mentioned a couple weeks ago and was also being discussed in another thread by Jesusberg and number9, Andersson is our Emmerton of a couple years ago. Useless, but just filling a roster spot. Andersson will either be on a bottom feeder team or back in Sweden in a year or two, he has no place in this lineup...

Brodeur should retire not playing games for anyone else. Especially as a backup.

Ok I think most fans have that player that they really don't like much whether it be Franzen, Lilja, Lang etc. Abdelkader along with Miller are mine. It's my fault because when Abs black aced it up so well in the playoffs I put it in my mind that he could be our next Mcarty. When that never happened I started disliking him. I (we) have really seen a big step forward this year especially in the clutch department, an area where I think he has always lacked in my opinion. So in other words yeah, I hope he gets back soon.

XO should be a full timer soon IMO, and I'm usually the one to say prospects need more time. Pulks needs a call up.

NO! lol In all seriousness, with the drastic improvement he has already shown in his very young NHL career, it would be crazy to give him up unless it was a package for one of the top dmen in this league. I think Smith has far too much upside to trade away for a top 4, when he himself could grow into a top pairing dman in time.

Couldn't agree more. All it will take is a deep playoff run for this team with all this youth, combined with the loyalty the franchise has (in most cases) always shown, to once again make this an attractive UFA destination. The new arena won't hurt either.

I don't think they're a top contender but they're in that second tier of teams that have a chance.

Nyquist is nowhere near hudler....like at all..... Nyquist is our fastest skater (next to helm....gus is more explosive). Nyquist has the second best hands on our team. Nyquist is our most likely player to score a goal on a given night. Hudler was small and he showed it every night...gus doesnt. This is an awful comparison Nyquist is is more comparable to a young zetterberg...
