3 pointsMy condolences to those people that wanted to tank this year, we're too good. Hate to say I told you so, but I was one of the few who stood by Holland and was made fun of, I guess we were right. Usually when an organization loses franchise players like Yzerman and Lidstrom, it takes 10-20 years to recover. This has to be one of the best rebuilds on the fly ever.

Do we need a trade to get our offence going ?
krsmith17 reacted to Euro_Twins for a post in a topic
Oh wait what about goals you ask? Green scored 31, while yandle's highest is 12. They are both the same height almost the same weight, but green shoots right and yandle shoots left. To me it sounds like green would be the better fit. But hey apparently yandle has more talent. Don't get me wrong I would love to get yandle, but A: he would cost way too much B: green fills a big need (and is clearly better, but has had more injuries) C: GREEN IS BETTER -

He can suck it up like Tatar and goose had to. He will be back, but for the time being he was able to be sent down without being waived. It was the most logical move. -

That is especially brutal. NHL record for fastest shorthanded goal to start a period too, by the way. -

What should we do with the Monster?
number9 reacted to Euro_Twins for a post in a topic
So your argument about how poor the team played with Howard is that we wouldn't make the playoffs without gustavsson? If we had mrazek maybe we win those games anyway. I am no hater of monster but let's be real here, he didn't outplay Howard, the team just scored more when he played cause they don't trust monster to save the puck. -

He didn't actually outplay Howard at all. Howard had one of his worst years last year and was still better than monster. Howard had almost no goal support while when gustavsson was in net the team scored a full goal more per game. That's the only reason why he won all those games -

Getting rid of Gus would be extremely dumb. Goalie depth is a very good thing to have and mrazek can keep working the kinks out of his game in the AHL. -

The guy outplayed Howard last year People are seeing a few games (some good, some average at best) from a young goalie and would already apoint him the backup job. Thats exactly the way of how players are getting their confidence shattered in early years. -

CBJ's Jack Johnson files for bankruptcy
Ally reacted to haroldsnepsts for a post in a topic
Mark Zuckerberg is hardly a typical example of a 25 year old, so that analogy means nothing. Actually, Jack Johnson isn't that different from a child star given how athletes are often treated when they excel at a young age. I'm just saying I can understand not knowing who to trust, so you trust your mom to figure it out for you. I don't feel the need to call someone an idiot for that. Naive maybe. I just don't understand the angry reaction people have to a dude who got ripped off by his parents. -

It's not like he gave the money to his mom and said "go play the stock market." According to one source she did things like bought a house in Manhattan beach with his money, then lied to him saying they paid for it with a relative's inheritance. So it's not just about ignorance of handling money and more about his parents completely taking advantage of him and not looking out for his best interests. Obviously in hindsight he should've found a financial adviser, but I can imagine being 25 years old, who just signed this giant contract. There's people all around you licking their chops to get at that money and take advantage of you, so who do you trust? You just don't expect it to be your parents. -

Sometimes you make mistakes....JJ trusted his parents, Fedorov trusted a financial advisor and gave him millions and millions to invest...that didn't work out too good for Sergei. He thought he was hiring a professional and JJ thought he was in good hands with his parents. Greed kills and nobody is immune to now and again. -

Not saying I'd trust him with millions of dollars, but you can't call him stupid for thinking his parents would have his best interest at heart. He made a mistake. -

1 pointHe's an idiot? Really? I can't speak for anyone else, but the last person in this world I'd expect to screw me over financially is my mother. It's one thing to be awful with money, but what they did with his money goes beyond being financially irresponsible - they milked the **** out of him. They treated him like a cash cow and ran his debt into the ground. The amount they spent/lost has more to do with their greed and taking advantage of a situation than it does with making smart decisions. Disgusting on their part.
