    No, we have a tandem. Damn good tandem. Don't create things to complain about Howard. He purposefully doesn't handle the puck because he knows it's not one of his strengths. Howard doesn't go out of his way to play the puck only to have things go horribly wrong with regular frequency ala Mike Smith.

    Marchenko looks great tonight. If he keeps this type of play up, then I'd be worried for ol' jangly-brained Smith. He might be the odd idiot out.

    I hate Pulkkinen and Tatar together! Kindl and Jurco look good tonight though.

    Howard would still be getting bashed if he did what Mrazek did on that first goal. But then again Howard has mishandled the puck and cost goals one too many times so I could see why people would get upset. Remember his notorious puck handling flub against Calgary couple years ago.. Mrazek criticism on that mess up is fair imo.

    That's why Howard isn't our starter now. Because he's made so many bad puck handling gaffs vs good puck handling plays that everyone is ready to crucify him when he gets the urge to use his stick. Mrazek, on the other hand, saved the day the other night with his play in the net and then won us the game with his puck handling. This one mistake is easily forgiven. And by easily, I mean, we are all already over it.

    Fortunately, we have a lot of coaches on this forum who seem to be available. We generated more and better chances tonight than they did. It was two mistakes that killed us, but I'm certainly not panicking after a more complete game than they'd had in a while, especially down as many bodies as we are. Horrible call there at the end, really killed any last minute momentum we could have generated. Very unfortunate.

    I'm officially worried. This team looks incredibly bad. They had very few chances tonight. They are just dumping it in every time, but none of our forwards can retrieve the puck. We just turn it over every time we have possession.

    Yeah. Not that the Wings didn't suck anyway, but hard to see what the refs were thinking there in the 3rd.

    I know it's harsh because of their history of being good hockey players but if the roster was chosen by effectiveness this season Glendening and Sheahan would be sitting for Andersson and Jurco

    Was Sheahan always this bad at draws? Clearly our worst line, fourth has been our best. Other two are just not forceful at all. Defense has been decent considering all the injuries I think when people return guys like Sheahan and Glendening should be considered to be scratches over Jurco

    Wonder what the reaction would be if Howard made a mistake like that. Not criticizing Mrazek. Just saying. We're out playing them. I expect a tie before the period is over.

    Well, sometime you have to pay if your goalie is trying to handle the puck as much as Mrazek does. But I rather have that than a goaltender who just stays in his crease.

    That will happen with a very active goalie. Worked great last game, bites us this one.... Mrazek had no reason to play that one though
