Agreed with the term hater, I was just explaining to Dickie why people call him that because he thinks its because "he speaks truth" but its not, its because he is over the top. I have used this saying before, but people should not be wearing "rose coloured glasses" but they also shouldnt be wearing "s*** coloured glasses" going to extreme's always makes you look bad. Just evaluate things like they are and try to put personal bias aside and use that mentality when evaluating this team. Without a doubt this team has been on decline, anyone can see that now, but years ago nobody knew for sure. Some will say they did, but they are probably the same people that said we were going on a decline around 2005. In 2005 they were wrong, in 2010 they were right. I guess what I'm getting at is that hockey is a cyclical game and we have been lucky enough to avoid the downturn for a very very long time. Now it's is our time, and hopefully Holland or whoever takes over for Holland if he steps down brings up back up quickly.

I don't post a lot here, but I've been on the board for years and years... reading topics. The term hater is an over used tripe. I'm not saying by you, but by posters in general. Typically people who saw the decline of this team coming over the last number of years were labeled as irrational, not "real" fans, haters, etc. I think that's in part why so many people seem to have disappeared from this board, they were tired of being criticized for seeing a team in decline, instead of unicorns and lollypops.

    Drew Miller on Waivers

Passing through waivers unclaimed is a career kill for an older player. Sure he may get traded for nothing to a team that just wants him as injury insurance, but his career as a fulltime NHLer is pretty much over. Did anyone else read the headline online and think it was Ryan Miller at first? I lol-ed when I realized it was Drew. Should have read "Aged Minor Leaguer Asks For Trade To Playoff Bound NHL Team. GMs Laugh Mightily" Don't get me wrong, I LUH ME SUM Silver Fox. He's a great Miller. In fact he's my favorite Miller. Just fantastic. But the gravy train is over. Yall played sucky and now ppl gots to be fired. Miller = FIRED. Marchenko = FIRED. Vanek & Smith = ....

Who said being critical makes someone a "hater"? I didn't. Being a "hater" to me would be saying you hate someone and making over the top derogatory statements about them which is what I was referring to. Doing this is fine, it is a discussion board. I really don't care personally, but lets call a spade a spade. Right or wrong is redundant. If a person says "Player X is not a good player and I am not a fan of them. I hope GM X trades them" I dont think anyone calls them a "hater". If a person says "Player X is a piece of s***! Screw him, I hope someone punches him in the face! pretty sure people call them a "hater". See the difference? Just for the record, I think the term "hater" is a stupid term. Redundant. I don't think I have never challenged you about the basis of what you say about Blashill, my point is that you can't be surprised if others label you a "hater".

I said I don't think it will be as tight as fitting kick's list of players into 6.1 mill. Taking 2 players off that list of players to re-sign absolutely helps the cap crunch. I didn't say that getting rid of them would create cap space.

I dont agree with you about Howard, I think people around here really undervalue him. 2 years, 10.6 million is not a huge commitment for a guy who can be an upper tier goaltender when healthy. It just wont happen until Bishop/Fleury are sorted out Agree with you about Nielsen and E, and I agree with you about Kronwall/LTIR. I am not saying these things will happen, what I was saying is what would need to happen for me to be ok with us -re-signing Smith. If these things dont happen, I dont re-sign Smith.

The guy was right though... so he wasn't a hater, he was ahead of the curve. By the away being critical doesn't make someone a hater.

    Drew Miller on Waivers

Miller can kiss Holland's ass for keeping him on the team way longer than he should have. The guy made one heck of a career out of basically being a fourth line penalty killing specalist. I wish him the best of luck wherever but it's clear he doesn't provide anything to the Wings right now, which will make trading him very tough. Plus he isn't lighting the AHL on fire either so unless a team really needs depth I don't see him being claimed or traded for even if it's just the conditional draft pick.

I have zero issue with Holland talking with Smith's agent. In business you explore all options. Now if Holland signs Smith without dumping any contracts, then I would have an issue. I dont hate Smith like so many others around here. I'm not saying he is some amazing player, but like I said previously, if we could dump/LTIR Kronwall, E, Nielsen, and Howard I would be open to bringing Smith back on a reasonable contract. With that being said, I would still trade him at the deadline, I would just re-sign him July 1st after the expansion draft.

Honestly, I'd take him here too. I don't think he's a top guy but he's better than probably anyone we have. Wouldn't trade the first for him obviously but I've been a fan of Myers since buffalo was rumored to be shopping him.

    2017 NHLTrade Deadline Discussion

Truly assessing a coach as a fan is pretty much impossible as there is so much we are just not privy to. As much as we all want to think we are experts, we are not. I think every player has a ceiling and a floor, the better coach the closer he will be to getting the majority of his players to their ceiling. This can be done a variety of ways, from motivating players, good game planning etc. This is why I dont think Blashill is a good coach, pretty much every player on this team is closer to their floor then their ceiling. With that being said, can I say Blashill is the worst coach in the league as a fact....no...... because that is pretty much impossible for a fan from the outside looking it to accurately assess. How can I say as a fact that Blashill is not as good of a coach as Bednar ? If you feel this last statement is true, this is likely the right move. If you are wrong, this would be a bad move. Only time will tell. I hope you are wrong, but at this point I would say it's 50/50. I'm personally not ready to give up on him at 25. Larkin/AA sure I see it. How is he handling Mantha poorly in your opinion?

No one is disagreeing with u, not sure how many times that has to be explained. You talk like a ridiculous person, then wonder why ppl treat you like a ridiculous person. What's not connecting here?
  16. 1 point
Ya.....pretty much what CRL said. Has nothing to do with you saying your opinion, its your ridiculously over the top comments which make it hard to take you seriously sometimes and lead to people calling you a "hater". (a term which for the record I never called you, I am just trying to explain to you why you are called it) Like I said, big difference between saying "Blashill needs to go! He is not a good NHL coach" and "THIS MAN IS THE BIGGEST IMBECILE IN THE HISTORY OF HOCKEY!!! COULDN'T COACH A DAMN PEE WEE TEAM TO A WIN!!!! SUCH A PIECE OF GARBAGE!!!!!!!!" Come on, you have to see my point.

Now youre a hater too Nah it's cause the language you use to critique him is completely over the top dude lol

So I'm right, but because I'm vocal about my dislike of his performance, I'm fair game to be labeled a hater. Gotcha Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

I dont think teams will really want him next year. His value is now as a depth player in the playoffs in case of injury. I could see him going for "future considerations".

No you were told you were a hater when you said you "hated" Blashill, then proceeded to call him Trashill, Blashcock, piece of garbage, complete moron etc on a daily sometimes hourly basis.

Pretty sure after the trade deadline rosters expand. I'm sure there are teams out there that passed on him because they didn't want to put someone through waivers themselves. Once that is no longer an issue, I'm sure a team out there would want him for depth.
