Jackets for sure! Get rid of the privileged bunch right away! Honestly, if Bobvrosky plays his game, they'll win the series. Columbus ain't no joke.

It is imperative that Pittsburgh nor Chicago win the Cup...We need our back to back to stay and we don't need Chicago to win 4 in 8 years...I could not stand the cock stroke-fest the NHL would have if either of those scenarios happen...

I'm pumped about this. Seems like the organization may be trying to get ahead of the curve on the rebuild. His numbers weren't great in college, but remember a few things. 1) Freshmen don't get a ton of playing time in NCAA hockey, and rarely put up big numbers when they do. 2) the NCAA itself isn't a high scoring league. I'm happy that the kid will have the advantage of professional quality training facilities, nutritionists, etc. That should only help him develop physically. And playing against better quality opposition might mean he'll struggle at first, but hopefully it means he'll be ready to make the jump at an earlier age. I've said before I'd like to see us competitive again in 3 years. If Cholo takes 3 years to develop and can come up to the big club and be a quality defender at age 22-23 I'll be thrilled. I like this.

Edmonton vs Toronto. how's that for a bold shot? I'm on the Oilers bandwagon for the Playoffs wow, that hurt my brain, but it's not the early 2000's anymore Bj and the bear, right? oh, sorry forgot the bear trend was over...

Will any of these players be back in time for the pla...............................oh wait, nevermind.

True enough. But everyone likes an underdog story. The Penguins winning would be business as usual, ho hum. The Blue Jackets knocking off the Penguins could generate buzz and possibly reel in an audience that otherwise wouldn't even know the NHL playoffs were happening. Bettman's whole thing is "growing the game." The path to that kind of growth = non-marquee teams becoming marquee teams. IMO.

I don't think there's any chance he straight-up retires and I don't think there's any chance Vegas takes him. IMO, it's going to be LTIRetirement. The only question is when.

And the Penguins will be without Letang! And, in terms of pure motivation...if there's one team the Jackets would absolutely love to knock out in the first round, it's gotta be the Penguins. Right? I dunno if I'd say there's ever been a really substantial, legitimate rivalry between the two clubs, but, living in Pennsylvania, I do know Blue Jackets Nation has a very healthy dislike for Penguins Nation and Penguins Nation has a very healthy dislike for Blue Jackets Nation. This should be a really good series, same as Rags-Habs. I feel bad for whichever team has to face the Caps in the first round. If it's Toronto...hoo boy. Talk about baptism by fire.

it's a Downey-Zetterberg hybrid, or, as I see it, Kickazz' ultimate man crush. lol jk edit: but that's how he requested the image. I think it was a pretty cool idea

    The Streak is officially over

Y'know, the more I think about it, the less convinced I am that this season wasn't a stealth tank right from the get-go. The smoking gun? Ott, Helm, Miller, Sheahan, Glendening, Abdelkader. Six versions of the same player, none of them especially good at anything. That's half your forward group.

This whole season has fallen under the spell of Holland's offseason gaffe. "Less can be more exciting."

I will miss the Joe greatly, the smell, the sound, being right on top of the ice. The new Arena will be nice but it won't be the Joe sadly

Does anyone remember why he left for the KHL? If he hadn't done that he'd probably already be up there.

    Jagr

Not sure what the numbers are for career totals, but I see Jagr probably playing next season as well.. at this point of his career he has the knack of disapearing for 58 minutes then putting a point on the board, so hes pretty consistent in that way. Seems to have a knack for getting points
