With my first post figured I ought to say a proper hello to this group. There you have it. If you have questions please consult my secretary. No really been a Wings fan for 20+ years now and like my drinking see no reason to stop. My hobbies you ask? Hockey, Beer, and Grilling. That is all. Let's Go Wings!

Story is bulls***, considering we traded for Hasek on June 30th and Roenick signed with Philly on July 2nd. And I don't know about "absolutely the best ufa". Mogilny, Robitaille, Hull, and Turgeon would argue with that. Also, you're highly over-rating Bishop. Also also hilariously over-concerned about our failure to sign an undrafted FA whose potential signing you considered facepalm-worthy two weeks ago. No amount of hypocrisy should stand in the way of a good bitchrant, I guess.

If by 'Finesse', you mean smaller, then yes I would go for Suzuki. From what I've read, it sounds like he gets to the dirty areas on the ice, and is capable of elevating the play of those around him. I think he's about the same size a Yzerman was, and is bigger than Gaudreau. From THW: "It’s easy to see why he’s rising. He’s a center. He’s fast. He’s smart. He’s not done growing." Then there's this: "While slightly undersized he is not shy to play physically and go to the net or dig for pucks in the corner" What's not to like? http://thehockeywriters.com/nick-suzuki-2017-nhl-draft-prospect-profile/

    Dallas gets Ben Bishop...

Absolutely zero desire to trade for Bishop. Props to Kenny for not falling victim to Left Wingers rants lol. First of all as a re-building team I would hate to give up a picks for a goalie who is 30 and could very well be headed for a decline. Secondly, Bishop is likely getting big money this off season, the last thing we need is 15 mil tied up in goalies as it is no guarantee we could move either Mrazek or Howard without eating cap with Howard's injury history and Mrazek's value being at an all time low right now. We have to stop with the mindset of trying to fix things overnight (unless we are talking an impact elite players like Tavares) and we need to continue with the re-build. Signing a 30 year old goalie for big money is a move that is made when you think you can contend next year.

    Dallas gets Ben Bishop...

Our tandem is just fine. We need defense.

You really thought Bishop might come here? We have 2 decent goalies locked up and a decent backup on the way. Dallas, Winnipeg, Calgary, and the Canes are gunning for goalies. Not us. So far Dallas just has the rights to talk to him first. Buffalo did this with Vesey last summer. Let's see how it pans out. Bishop was asking 6+ million and 6 years out of Calgary, and mind you he's 30.

Question is, will Howard put Calgary or Winnipeg on his list of 10 teams?

Ya Karlsson is a better skater and stickhandler but Lidstrom could put up close to Karlsson numbers while being the best defensive shut down guy in the league Ya the CBC announcer mentioned Karlsson lead the league in blocked shots I couldn't believe it. His defensive game has come a very long way but as a 1 on 1 defender he's pretty average

Better make it a blended scotch if that's going to be the Final.

Doesn't Howard have a NMC though?

Whenever the wings are out i cheer for the rangers because king henrik has been my favorite goalie for years. Sadly i think his window to win a cup in ny has closed but i could see him going somewhere like dom did to try to win a cup at some point. He is still a very good goalie. I mean he just out dueled price. AV lost this series in part like how blashill would have...playing the wrong players at the wrong time. In game 2 in the dying minute he had marc stall on the ice and he messes up and the sens tie the game. Game 5, same thing. Kind of reminds me of blashill coaching. Which is odd because AV is usually very good and i like him but he was no doubt out coached in this series.

Yeah craziest part about him is his age to talent level. He may very well end up being the best active defenseman in the league for a long time. Especially with the way defense has been trending toward more of a quick skating/puck moving style.

    Damn. Karlsson is a beast.

Would be cool to see the Sens make the Finals, they're probably the only Canadian team I'd like to see win the Cup. I dunno if they can take out the Caps or Pens though. Yeah I didn't watch much either, but from what I've read, he was shaky. The Rags needed him on top of his game to take Game 6, and he didn't show up.

    Dallas gets Ben Bishop...

Don't want Bishop here so I'm glad He was traded to Dallas. Good move for them. I don't think Bishop does much for this team. Hopefully we can trade Howard for a 4th to someone.

Another year without a Cup for Lundqvist. Have wanted him to win one for a bit now, and it's usually his team that lets him down. Not this season though, the loss was just as much his fault. I figure his window to win one is closed as a Ranger. He's gonna be 36 next year and his play is declining. No longer the difference maker they need him to be.

Go easy on Pierre. Kris "Kristopher Letang" Letang is out for the postseason and Pierre doesn't know what to do with himself.
