yztheman 29 Report post Posted April 29, 2015 (edited) Well considering the circumstances of no penalty and all the other info we (have) this surely looked like a no suspension incident. You don't even have to be a hardcore hockey fan, you could have simply watched some of the other playoff games going on now as a casual fan and would have seen much worse multiple times. It just proves (in my sceptical mind) what I have said about rich people, sport star millionaires, and others who live a life without poverty. They have no clue. They grew up people doing for them they have no clue what the average person's life of hardship is. My grandparents were Alabama sharecroppers who had nothing. I have come a long way from that but a couple of bad breaks and I could wind up poorer. Also, I used to work for a medical facility full of doctors. A little medical education and these people think they are lawyers and mechanics too. Know everything. Sickening. It seems the people at the top are all like that. I have often wondered if it is psychosis that really gets people to the top. Liars and idiots. Why do people keep believing them? Atlanta believed them. Then the NHL s*** all over the fan base. #BettmanMustGo Edit for grammer and ranting lol Edited April 29, 2015 by yztheman

Jedi 1,865 Report post Posted April 29, 2015 One of the worst things to come out of this, is that you will probably never see Kronwall make his signature hits again. If the NHL is willing to suspend him, when he has never been suspended before, then he will have no incentive to make that kind of hit again. Any hit from here on out will have this suspension looming over it. RIP "You Got Kronwall'd". You had a pretty good run. 2 puckloo39 and yztheman reacted to this

kickazz 5,459 Report post Posted April 29, 2015 (edited) I mean, there was a reason Kronwall wasn't doing his "patented" Kronwall hits as much anymore. It started to slow down when the league became strict on suspensions. I'm sure he knew he had to be more conservative. He probably didn't want to do it even when he did. It was probably one of those "well we're getting our butts kicked, now might be a good time to uplift the team.. But what if I get in trouble.. Nahhh HERE WE GO!". Went for it and did it. Now he's probably thinking "yeaaah I really shud have not done it, I knew those bastards were out to get me. Dammit!" toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted April 29, 2015 I'm sure I'm in the great minority amongst Wings' fans...haven't read any of this thread at all, but I didn't like the hit, I thought he left his feet and get his elbow/forearm up. I think he's gotten away with very similar hits over the past several years as well (less lately), which I also didn't like. I love the open ice hit, but the ones he's thrown, like this one, are pretty dangerous and the thing that I really don't like is that he seems to pick his spots...wait for that player that is vulnerable with their head down. I wouldn't have been saying the same things 10 years ago, but a lot of things have changed and for good reason, even though I love seeing big hits like that, it's really not good for the long term health and safety of the players. It does take some of the entertainment out of the game, but I don't think there is really any choice.

LeftWinger 5,129 Report post Posted April 29, 2015 (edited) toby, its not about Kronwall and the hit, which was to the head and he left his feet, its more about Palat, Garrison not getting suspended for literally the same thing. Even Shaw on Jackman, I don't give two s***s about Chicago or St. Louis, but its about the NHL being a joke. If none of those hits were not suspension worthy, then neither should Kronwall... WingsAlways 486 Report post Posted April 29, 2015 This is sickening but what can we do besides play hard tomorrow? Optimistically thinking, even if we lose tomorrow Montreal won't be "suspended" for the antics they'll bring to Tampa. Either way they lose IMHO.

55fan 5,133 Report post Posted April 29, 2015 What is the rule on leaving your feet and such? You can't leave your feet before the hit, but if you do as a result of momentum, it's ok. Unless you are intending to do it, the ref intended to blow the whistle, your jockstrap is more than 4 months old, you have an uncle named Louis, Norman, or Sven, or your team's home city is north of, but not in, parts of Canada. DickieDunn 2,571 Report post Posted April 29, 2015 Punches to the head, elbows to the head, crosschecking a guy in the neck, all ok. yztheman 29 Report post Posted April 29, 2015 (edited) I love the open ice hit, but the ones he's thrown, like this one, are pretty dangerous and the thing that I really don't like is that he seems to pick his spots...wait for that player that is vulnerable with their head down. I want to say that in one of the earlier games Kronwall came up to the O blue line and put a love tap on one of Tampas stars who was coming up the wall with his head down. Don't remember which game. That should have put Tampa on notice imo, it was the first time in a long time I thought I was going to see him kronwall someone, but like I said he pulled up. Skating anywhere on the ice is dangerous if your head is down, everyone knows that. The onus is on the puckhandler and really, everyone on the ice, to keep your head up and be alert. The is one of the last physical games and just like real life we have the NHL with bad people in positions of authority making stupid fail decisions and too blind to see their error. But yeah let's blame the guy with his head up and in the game. Just countering your point, we all have different opinions it's your right to think it was bad and I won't question that. But I think how bad he is is overhyped. edit for spelling Edited April 29, 2015 by yztheman

TheXym 2,606 Report post Posted April 29, 2015 Absolute joke of a suspension. After the Palat hit and the double team on Abs were let go, not to mention the Subban BC two hander that broke a guy's wrist and they suspend this, you've got to say the fix is on. Quintal makes the old Burke wheel of justice seem logical and competent. I hope the Wings come out in game 7 and kick the s*** out of TB, on the scoreboard as well as physically to the point that the Bolts need a M.A.S.H. unit dispatched to Ameli arena. Babcock giving Cooper a stone cold stunner in the handshake line for the finishing touch. 2 MrazekFanBoy and F.Michael reacted to this

Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted April 29, 2015 toby, its not about Kronwall and the hit, which was to the head and he left his feet, its more about Palat, Garrison not getting suspended for literally the same thing. Agreed. It's great that the DoPS is trying to get head shots out of the game. But...if Palat-on-Glendening doesn't warrant a suspension, and Garrison-on-Abdelkader doesn't warrant a suspension, and Wilson-on-Visnovsky doesn't warrant a suspension, and Byfuglien-on-Perry doesn't warrant a suspension, and Kronwall-on-Kucherov does warrant a suspension...has the DoPS really done its job this month? With this decision to suspend Kronwall, have they really helped to make the game any cleaner? Have they really educated anyone? Have any standards or guidelines been made any clearer? Does this set a clear and logical precedent (and was there a precedent for the precedent)? 3 BottleOfSmoke, roboturner and TheXym reacted to this
kliq 3,763 Report post Posted April 29, 2015 This is a joke! I am all for player safety and enforcement of suspensions on head shots, but not when its implemented selectively. This one makes me really mad because I think it is going to end our season. 91forever 8 Report post Posted April 29, 2015 Well this is a lopsided call someone clearly wants TB to go further and they know Kronwall suspended is the way to cripple us. Seriously the stupid calls in this game and the series. This is a huge hit to our team and it feels like we were targeted for failure. I hope we win this game tonight and the league can choke on that cockmeat sandwich.
