Barrie 900 Report post Posted April 9, 2016 Hey we got in back door, but I'm feeling good. 3rd place in the division, and we're playing Tampa while their best player is injured. I think if we were told at the beginning of the year this is how it would be going into the playoffs, we'd take it.

DickieDunn 2,571 Report post Posted April 10, 2016 Like I said before the Rangers game, it all depends on which team shows up, and I haven't seen nearly enough confidence or resiliency from the team to think that they have what it takes to win in the playoffs. 1 Detroit \# 1 Fan reacted to this

puckbags 863 Report post Posted April 10, 2016 Im already over the 2 losses. We got in, lets move forward. Pay tampa back for last year! Exactly, who cares, we lost our way in. Everyone is even in and we have the same chance everyone else does. LETS GO ! 1 sjr2012 reacted to this
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted April 10, 2016 The Wings have now been in the playoffs consecutively for half of my life. No wonder this half has been better than the first. 3 Internet.Unknown, NerveDamage and kickazz reacted to this
LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted April 10, 2016 Did we lose our way in or did Boston lose their way out million-dollar question... which loss was more catastrophic today us losing on an empty-net goal or Boston getting blown out?
marcaractac 3,963 Report post Posted April 10, 2016 Did we lose our way in or did Boston lose their way out million-dollar question... which loss was more catastrophic today us losing on an empty-net goal or Boston getting blown out? Worst for Boston by far. That team went into a nosedive a dozen games ago and crashed and burned today. Wings had a bad start, but played well afterwards. Raanta stole the game for them really. That combined with Blash pulling the goalie way to damn early. Last time the Wings had a few days rest was for the Philly game. So hopefully that is the team we see for game 1. 1 krsmith17 reacted to this
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted April 10, 2016 If our dumb dumb coach could just roll out the line up all of us are clamoring for, we'd be just fine against Tampa Bay. If the team that played against NYR today is the lineup for Game 1, well then it'll be a short series.
Barrie 900 Report post Posted April 10, 2016 I was thinking about this "backed in" to the playoffs (I made the comment too). How many teams can survive playing Philly, Boston, and NYRangers in 4 days, and playing 3 of our last 4 games on the road? We made the playoff because we beat Minnesota, Toronto on back to back nights, and Philly in a must win. Boston couldn't keep up. 1 TheXym reacted to this
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 10, 2016 I hate being negative but there's no reason to expect a coaching change and culture change in less than a week. What we will see in round one is what we've seen all year. One strong game, one or two times getting shutout and a close loss.
cupcrazy 13 Report post Posted April 10, 2016 At the end of the day, the playoffs are based on a record though 82 games. In 82 games, we won enough to earn a playoff spot. Am I happy about the last two games...no. But, the season is not a 3 game season. I just hope the Wings that come out in the playoffs are the same team I watched shutout Philly earlier in the week. All night last night I was disgusted with the Wings playoff push effort, I felt yes they made the playoff's but didn't deserve it. Your comment actually sums it up perfectly and make me feel a lot better about the process. The Wings did earn a playoff spot over the course of a 82 game season. 1 kliq reacted to this
joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted April 10, 2016 Wings need a major lineup change if they expect different results in the playoffs. Putting Dats and Z together, giving AA a larger role, something needs to change. Could be a major rallying moment where the wings never look back. You have to get Nyqvist and Tatar and the Euro twins going or we don't have a chance offensively

Clearly the kids won't be played. I'm done with Blashill and holland both should be fired already Why is it Hollands fault? Blash isn't playing Mantha, he probably asked for Anderson for his "Defense". Ya know because we score a lot of goals as it is and our PP is on fire.
joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted April 10, 2016 It sucks but I think people had there blinders on for Mantha. He wasn't ready defensively/positionally. He probably has more to galn from being the #1 guy in the AHL playoffs. The fact that he isn't leading the team offensively shows he still has a lot to learn even at the AHL level. Good for him to get some games in the NHL and get to score in Montreal but I'd rather him take another step in his development than play 1:42 a game like Andersson will be getting 1 TheXym reacted to this

krsmith17 7,191 Report post Posted April 11, 2016 Yeah, the whole "backing in" bulls*** is kind of overstated. Sure it would have been nice to win our last couple, going into the playoffs on a high note, but like has been mentioned, it was an 82 game season, not 2 or 3 games. We had a tough schedule down the stretch whether it was opponents, back to back games, or whatever. We're in and that's what matters. I think we have a good shot against Tampa.
