This is my hamster, Jordin. He says he could eat the ducks for breakfast. Go Wings! Plus it's Kronner's birthday, so he gets a hat trick or something.

C'mon ppl, sounds like defeatist talk. We're only down by one. It could be worse, we could be up by two.

Seems much more entertaining than the awful watered down game we get in the NHL.. atleast the boys are trying to put on a show

I read this topic when it first was posted and got a little bit angry after reading some of the reactions to this news. I've never had a concussion (that I knew of) but can relate in my own way. At 27, I had a major stroke. Possibly sports related, possibly not?! I have a symptom called Aphasia that SUUUUUUUUCKS! It's like a logjam in my brain and the only way to fix it is to take a step back and relax. If Franzen has something similar, I can sympathize and only dream that his ailments go away. Don't know why I just shared this, but personally I feel a bit better that I have. That's all, carry on

Not a huge fan of cross-checks to the face, but totally acceptable there given the receiver. Tell Perry he's gonna get it.

Not to take anything away from Monster and what he's done so far this season, but I'd be ok with Mrazek being the backup next season. Hell, I might even be ok with him as the #1.

We have Samuelsson and Bertuzzi on the first unit, Kindl and Cleary on the 2nd. I'm honestly not sure if we even have an advantage on the PP.

Outshoot them, outchance them, outplay them, get lots of juicy PP opportunities, fail to convert on all God-given chances, give up a lame goal, wilt. Wings hockey.

Nah, Andersson has been excellent on the PK. Sheahan makes Cleary obsolete. At least he's big and can skate.

Sheahan needs to stick in the nhl. Andersson can sit when we get healthy

If Bert's injured, does Jurco get called up? Cuz I'd be ok with that.

I really do not think he is faking it. This explains a lot of things if he is still having issues from the 2008 concussion. I don't like him too much, but hate to see this happen to him. I cannot imagine having issues like this affecting everyday life, but it does happen and it does seem that this could be the problem. The hit itself recently didn't look that bad, but it definitely triggered something that caused him to not want to take any chances on the ice until he knows if he is healthy or not. Unfortunately if a 2008 injury is still hanging on, it may spell the end of his career. Health is far more important than the game. I am not sure of the CBA rules, but he should probably retire if it won't cost the Wings too much. If he cannot retire, the Wings may as well use the last buyout on him and let him get healthy enough to have a functional life. If he tries to come back, one big hit and he could be scrambled eggs... I know I have been very hard on him and wanted him off this team, but not this way, if he is forced to retire I will be very sad to see him leave the game. I am not one to wish career ending injuries on anyone...Get well enough Franzen to have a healthy life, you don't owe us anything. God Bless!

I think the cumulative aspect that might be considered is that if you have an undiagnosed concussion and get another hit while that is happening the symptoms and effects can get worse. theoretically it should be a single trauma, but with athletes you know that might not always be the case.

It was time for this to happen two years ago. It's about time.

I'll be amazed if this guy ever plays a single game in the NHL. The only positives I've seen attributed to this guy are his size and fighting ability, neither of which are in high demand from our management. I think he gets lost along the way unless he finds another element to his game.

Sooner or later the US will understand, like the rest of the civilized world, that soccer and hockey are superior sports compared to American Football, basketball and baseball. It's just going to take a while, I think it's ingrained in the american mentality to focus on the individual over the team. It's all about the quarterback or the pitcher or the Lebron. In hockey/soccer it's not as simple to focus on one player.

I didn't say offensively skilled! They both play a very similar style of game, neither is a stay at home d-man, so yes Quincey is too offensive minded to be paired with Smith!
