Babcock agrees. Edit: If you want a real laugh, look at Babcock taking a selfie. http://kuklaskorner.com/tmr/comments/babcock-lets-his-hair-down

I think you're overstating things in terms of the Gold. First of all, the Bronze is won, not gained with a loss like the Silver. Team USA went home empty handed, and established new records of shame (first back to back shutouts for an American team since the 1920s, worst shutout in the medal round in Olympic history, etc). This crap goes in the record books, a bronze would have been something... Now this 2014 squad will look awful in the history books.

Yikes, I'm going to have nightmares now after viewing this.

I'm all for unlocking the thread and discussing the game et al, but if the last posts are what we have to look forward to, I have no problem locking it again.

I'm glad this thread was unlocked so I'd have a chance to say that this is one of the dumbest things I have heard from a LGWer in a while, and that's saying something. The two coaches have very similar styles.

Coaches the winning team to the Gold Medal ... still gets no credit.

Not even a mention of Janmark or Bertuzzi? LW- Athanasiou, Bertuzzi C- Jarnkrok, Janmark RW- Mantha, Nastasiuk, Frk That's a fairly solid group of forwards going forward considering how young they are.

I almost just laughed myself off the couch. Holy s*** dude....epic Jokinen. Oh, and I believe the real Olli is right smack dab in the middle sporting the Ryan Getzlaf hair cut.

The Silver means as much to the Swedes as winning the Bronze meant to the USA... after the two quick goals 11 seconds apart, the USA just mailed in the rest of the game...really, who cares about a Bronze? We went there to win the Gold and anything else was meaningless... I'd rather have a pin that says "I Participated at Sochi" than take home a Bronze medal in Hockey...

    Anthony Mantha

I hope so. But lets also understand there is a BIG difference between Juniors and the NHL. I love the fact we have Mantha, but lets get him playing pro hockey and see what we truly have.

It's simply amazing. He has won at every level, yet still dumb statements are made like earlier posts.

Every member of the management team has more hair, with the exception of Peter Chiarelli. That is bad.

Could care less if NHL players don't play in the Olympics again. Unless the games are in North America, you can't watch any of them live without quitting your job. And the primetime evening coverage doesn't show re-runs of hockey. They only had one channel showing the evening coverage when most people have returned from their workdays. One the bright side, I got to see plenty of figure skating and women in khaki pants doing stupid stunts on a snowboard.

Congratulations Canada, as much as I hate to see you win you were clearly the better team today. I am very impressed by Canada's team defense, they don't give up an inch and Price barely had to break a sweat in the semis and final. It's too bad that we lost three of our top6 players beforehand and then Bäckström just before the game, we need everyone healthy if we are going to give Canada a good fight. Even then I think we only win 1-2 out of 10 games maybe but it would've at least been a closer and better game. We all know how the Zetterbeard thrives on games like these for example.

So now NHL players aren't even allowed to celebrate at home infront of their fans? What the f*** is this, let them celebrate and then they are going to fly back. Sometimes this league just doesn't look like a player first approach.

Sweden was missing too many high-end players to hang with Canada. Needed at least Backstrom, but really when we lost Zetterberg I felt we lost the chance to win Gold. Good tournament by Canada, that defense is really impressive.

My money is on Radulov. I could see Datsyuk not wanting to deal with Radulov's crap.

I like to think of my Ken Holland with giant angel wings and singing lead vocals for Lynyrd Skynyrd with like an angel band, and I'm in the front row and I'm hammered drunk.

some 2nd round guys: Adrian Kempe 6-2/190 LH C. A Swedish power forward in the making. One of the younger guys in the class, but shows some promise. Austin Poganski 6-1/190 RH RW. High energy guy who loves to throws his body around. Jared Fiegl 6-2/195 LH LW Power forward that is developing as a skater. Could be a top 6 guy if his skating improves. I like Tuch (pun intended). Think of him on the RH side with Mantha on the LH side. 2 big fast scorers. Now just need a C.......

Ok, first round targets: Jake Virtanen 6-1/210 LW LH. Considered to be a physically punishing forward who skates really well. Known to have a good hard shot. Plays for the Hitmen. Dylan Larkin 6-1/190 LH C. Strong 2 way C that shows a lot f grit. Plays for the US NTDP U-18. Alex Tuch 6-4/225 RH RW. Big American Power Forward with a great shot.
