I wanted to use the Winter Classic GDT I made one last time, adjusted it to fit this game. Huge one against the Leafs, this is a game we really gotta win. Get it done boys. LETS GO WINGS!!!

We now have an explanation on why Babs didn't play him early in the year, Tatar wasn't inviting him to his parties.

When I was that age, I was doing similar things. Only I was in my own home town, in my native country. My father was still alive and very available for guidance and perspective. And I wasn't making bank. And I wasn't nearly as high strung to begin with. It's a strange period in his life, no doubt. But IMO, they're the golden years. I would recommend not growing up too fast. You can never go back.

I personally like the fact that Babs realized the vets weren't getting it done and buried them on the 3rd line. Let the kids do the work, they have been the ones winning us games.

With Columbus losing, and the Leafs down late, last nights game against Montreal becomes a mulligan. Beat Toronto tomorrow and all of a sudden we're in the drivers seat.

If I was 23 years old and had that kind of money I'd be in prison.

After 73 games: Datsyuk has played 39 games. Zetterberg has played 45 games. Both have been out at the same time for a big chunk of time. Every player projected to be even a semi-regular center has missed at least 12 games, Andersson is the only one who has played more than 45. Miller, Quincey, and Kronwall are the only players to have played 70 or more games. Tatar and Lashoff, along with the three above, are the only players to have missed fewer than 10 games. Nyquist and Tatar are the two leading goal scorers. They have dressed 30 skaters and have had 11 rookies dress. If you had been told those facts at the beginning of the year, haw many games out of the playoffs would you think they'd be right now? I would have figured close to the bottom of the division. Instead, if the season ended today they would be in the playoffs. I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty proud of what this team has accomplished, even if it's not what past teams have been able to do.

Au contraire , mon ami: I've got Jen Murphy, known across our hockey league as The Jenerator. As a defensive pairing, our goalie once informed us that we'd gone 11 games in a row without getting scored upon. Murph is a Class IV white water kayaker. An excellent mountain biker. Restored her own 63 Volvo. Dabbles in triathlons. Is too smart to ever go out with Avery or Phanuef. And most relevantly, is a huge Red Wing fan. Cuthbert would be fun for a long weekend, but as far as a lifetime goes, I've got the trump card.

Remember earlier in the season and everyone wondered why Tatar wasn't called up? I think stuff like this has something to do with it. It speaks to his maturity or lack of. I'm not saying he has to be a choir boy, but it's just not the "Red Wing Way". Most people making a six figure salary and can afford to live there, probably aren't guys in their early 20's. throwing loud parties. Not to mention, he's put Helm in a bad spot, as the owner or original lease.

This rules so much! I want to hit up a Tatar party.

Apparently he skated the last two days and will practice with the team on Tuesday. So hoping he can get going because he is a good player I don't care what anyone says if he can get going.

Brodeur should know better when it comes to Avery and have just said no comment. Why feed the troll? This kind of thing is exactly what he lives for. It says a lot about Avery's maturity level when as a 33 year old he's making reference to "waking up next to a supermodel" as his comeback. Whether it's true or not if you're in your 30s and your comeback is essentially "oh yeah well I'm banging hot chicks!" It's time for some serious self reflection. Brodeur is one of the greatest goalies of all time and a HOF lock. When people talk about Sean Avery it will only be about his antics and what his NHL career could've been.

That's like saying it's impossible to say whether life without one of your arms would be good or bad because it hasn't happened. Sure, but you can speculate with a pretty high degree of logical validity. Datsyuk and Zetterberg are two of the best players in the world. It's always better to have them than not have them...just like both your arms.

Not so big games tonight but would definitely be useful if the Rangers, Flyers and Canadiens all lost. Tuesday is obviously where the action is but main thing is we have to get 2 points in Columbus. With the way the Leafs are going I don't see them beating the Blues, while Kings/Capitals is a toss up really. Thoughts?
