I think it's pretty safe to say NY's bandwagon is pretty much groaning under the weight of all the Wings fans that jumped on it last night.

Franzen was the only player on the team I saw put Lucic on his backside, he led all forwards in blocked shots, he had twice as many takeaways than giveaways and set up all kinds of scoring chances that didn't get buried. There was bad too, he took a lot of bad shots, the turnover's he had ended up in our net and he couldn't bury any of the chances he had, but he wasn't close to the worst forward for the Wings during that series.

Nabokov is, like, 70 years old. Ken Holland is so turned on right now.

I get the sense you don't like Franzen. Why the change of heart?

    Next Seasons Needs/Team Future

    1. Alfie was a great pickup. If he plays another year here, it will make this team better. 2. The coach and team leadership all wanted Cleary back. Can't solely put that on Holland. He came of being a huge factor in the playoffs the year before. It didn't work out. These things happen. It did not hinder the team in any way in the end. People need to get over this.

Wings will buy out Tootoo, not Franzen.

It ended up being a turnover but "lazy"? It was a hard saucer pass, that would have led to a breakaway or at worst a 2 on 1. Krug had to make a great play at the line to knock the puck down or Helm was gone. Even Datsyuk, who was unquestionably our best player made worse passes in the series than that one.

I real question is, how well would Todd McLellan like working for Jeff Blashill? Let's just combine the two threads right now.

Ive been saying since last year to bring up Blashill. He has a very impressive resume he's won every championship of the league he's coached in, knows how to use kids, even spent time as assistant in NHL so he knows what to do. Babcock's time is over, his system doesn't work here anymore, time for some new blood and energy. Blashill knows these kids, he's doing very well with them.

    Tortorella To Be Fired

I think that the Wings should hire him to be the personal motivator for Franzen. Torts is utlra competitive and very demanding and is not afraid to call a player out to the media, unlike the Wings who are always polite regarding Franzen. Imagine if Franzen had to deal with Torts all year, might get his rear end in shape haha. Obviously I am kidding, but this would be quite funny.

The PP sucked while Lidstrom was still here. The problems really did start as soon as McClellan left. Sure, NOW we can see why it sucks but it started sucking way before then. I've got to think it's Renney because the PP isn't structured for the benefit of the current crop of players, and it's too rigid and predictable, which goes back to the coach. And yes, McCrimmon was a terrible defensive coach, too.

The Rangers play back-to-back in Games 6 and 7 against the Flyers. Then they have to turn around after one day off and play three in four nights to open the series with the Penguins. Funny how that always seems to work out when Pittsburgh is involved.

That Bieber picture pisses me off and I hate the Hawks. Show some respect and don't stand on their logo, man.

I am still trying to figure out who we could get for Franzen's cap number that would be just as good if not better. You know when Vanek signs with a team he is going to ask for $6 million a season at least. If we are going to buy out Franzen, and put plugs into our team, I am sure that wouldn't go over well with the fanbase.

The red wings don't need 3 of their top 6 forwards, or a few of their established D-men. Rebuilding is fun. It's a joke bc what ur suggesting will never happen. Welcome to the red wings.

I can't pick which thread to rage in, there are so many options. Literally every match up did not go the way I wanted it to in the first round. I feel like I am personally being trolled by the NHL. Because it's all about me, and I know Gary stays up nights plotting ways to gaslight me.

We can buyout TooToo anytime. We don't have to waste our compliance buyout to do it. 1.9 million doesn't matter to us-we have plenty of cap space. Buy out FRANZEN!!!!!!!!!!!! He is dead weight.

Good. Since he really never got a shot with the Red Wings, now I can watch him play elsewhere. I loved to see him in a Wings sweater, even for just a little while. Good luck, Jordin!

Ken Holland quote August 31st 2014: Ultimately, we kicked some tires but the price was too steep to bring in a free agent RH defenceman. We feel the return of a more experienced Quincey and Kindl solidifies our backend. The return of a healthy pav and Z gives us all we need and franzen tells me he has been resurged. I traded tatar and 2 conditional 1st round picks for the rights to Chris Chelios, but ultimately I did not kick the tires hard enough and we won't be adding his veteran leadership this season.

    A plea to Holland.

Please for the love of all that is good and holy, get rid of Lashoff and Kindl. If not both then at least one of them. The pairing of Kindl and Lashoff is a goal waiting to happen. We've had amazing success inserting young forwards into the lineup, why not try a defenseman? I don't care if it's Almqvist, or Sproul, or whoever, nor do I care if management thinks they are ready. No one thought Jurco, Glendening, or Sheahen were ready either; and they are doing just fine. So Holland do us all a favor and bring in some fresh young blood.

    A plea to Holland.

As we've found out this year, our players in the minors have been held back too long. If not for injuries, guys like Sheahan and Jurco would have been in GR all year, while Bertuzzi, Sammy and Cleary would be playing. Holland doesn't have a clue. I wouldn't be surprised if one of our young D-men in the minors is better than some of the garbage playing on the top squad.
