You should probably look up what young 20 goal scorers get in this league these days. This is a good deal if he never gets more than 20, if he gets 25+ it's fantastic. It's also worth noting that Tatar is very much his own product, he hasn't been feeding off Dats or Z or the PP for his production.

Relax, fellas. You're not in a police state. A few years ago there was a rampant problem with overly gratuitous cursing on the forums (particularly in the GDTs, where scores of entire posts would be made up of nothing but f-bombs and such). The community was warned that if such behavior continued that a curse filter would be enabled. This curse filter is just a huge word blacklist that was loaded into the database -- it wasn't something that myself or one of the moderators simply added one by one, manually. That said, the behavior continued, it grew tiresome to continually delete/edit posts that were going over the line -- and the curse filter was enabled. I hate the fact we have to have a curse filter here. It annoys me to no end. But if the community can't handle that maturely then it's here to stay. "Dick" was an unfortunate victim of blacklist collateral damage. You should be happy to see your dicks have henceforth been freed. Enjoy.

I believe he is a key player on this squad. He brings so much energy each night, and can score from multiple spots. He isn't afraid to go to the hard spots and is good in low. He has top speed and a knack for making key plays. Good signing.

Little higher then what I was thinking. But I agree it's a good deal for both sides.

1. Weiss will make a lot of people eat crow by having a 50+ point season 2. Hank will have a career year. 3. Howard will have a bounce back season. 4. The team makes the playoffs with a lot less stress than the past 2 seasons. 5. A forward we'll hate to see go will be traded to bring in a dman that we need. 6. Many Wings fans will finally see that the team is going in the right direction.

That's not true. Last year we were so close to the cap that we had to do all kinds of financial acrobatics to make it work. Great to sign Tatar! The problem with placing all our hopes on a healthy team is that it ignores the fact that for the first part of last season we were totally healthy and we still weren't that good. We were also totally healthy for the 4 post seasons before last year. Same results though. Like everyone else, I'd obviously prefer we were healthy rather than not. But a lot of people are going to be very disappointed when they realize that we can make all the excuses we want, but there are a lot of holes in our team that didn't get solved in the offseason, and won't be solved by Datsyuk staying healthy. We've got an undersized, perimeter, team that can't play in the crease. We don't have a single top flight player in his prime. We've got a defense that can't move the puck efficiently. We've got horrible special teams. And we've got an offensive scheme that hasn't yielded quality results in 5 years. Obviously, I'd love to be wrong. The best case scenario is that we get healthy and win a Cup. But I'm not holding my breath. Second best scenario? Get healthy and struggle just as much as we did a year ago. At least that way nobody can use the "injury" excuse anymore.

Yea I don't see why they'd re-sign Andersson. If anything, he'd be put in a package first, although I doubt that'd net us very much in return.

I mean, in a full season Tatar's going to give you 20+ goals. To me 20 goals is worth 2.75 million, every day of the week. 20+ goals and shutdown defense will get you 5 million plus. Ask Kesler or O'Reilly. Tatar's getting paid what he should.

I have no love bubble for Helm. I have no personal dislike for the guy either. And I'm so sorry, by the way. When I asked for proof of Helm's softness I really thought you were just quoting hearsay and clubhouse rumors. Little did I know that you source was Manny Legace's father in law!!!!! I feel so silly for second guessing you. And believe it or not, just because one person that's about 3-4 people removed from you says Helm is a puss, that doesn't make it true. With a roster that's nowhere near the league's best, no less. That's totally on the GM for letting a mediocre team be up against the cap.

I'm in Kales. Great area to live. Great restaurants and events. Wonderful biking city. My buddies and I walk next door and scalp Tigers tickets for cheap halfway through games. Sure, there are a bunch of empty buildings around, and that is by no means a great thing, but I feel the people here embrace it as the city's aesthetic and character. It's part of the whole package. I think the plans for construction will really attract further life down here once people realize how convenient and fun the area around the statiums is.
