Preds lead 2-0 after 20 mins. I'm torn. On the one hand, f*** the Ducks. On the other hand, the Ducks might be the tougher opponent for the Pens -- and the most important thing in all this is that the Pens do not repeat. Ah screw it. Go Preds!

    Shattenkirk

Shattenkirk rumors are he wants to play for the Rangers, with a small chance he might choose NJD if they're willing to pay him. This is like Suter. We're not getting him.

Here's how I'm looking at it... The Preds have Rinne, Subban, Josi, Ekholm, Ellis. It'd be their D and G (very thin at F) versus the Pens' F and G (very thin at D). Also, the Preds would be the fresher team. All in all, probably a pretty even matchup.

Now he's going to win the cup and take it back to the childrens hospital in Montreal and rub it in the poor french kids faces. Disgusting. He cares more about marketing himself, than he does about playing hockey. It's a distraction, and it has no place in the very super extra serious game of entertainment sports. He needs to learn to play the game the white way.

    Shattenkirk

Shattenkirk showed he's not "the guy" these playoffs... he's a good piece, but not a linchpin. Someone said solid 2nd pair guy and I agree! For what he'd cost versus what he brings I'd avoid him at all costs.

I know right? What kind of clown dances during warmups? He needs to get his head in the game. 10 points in 16 games? Pfff he'd have a lot more if he wasn't so busy trying to be a crowd pleaser. Maybe then he'd be a half decent hockey player. Get your head in the game you f***ing CLOWN!!!

It would have been 0 goals if he had any respect for the system. Can the Nashville Predators even hope to win a single SCF game with this clown? Obvious distraction. His teammates must hate playing with him. Thug. Show boater. Lockerroom cancer.

Urgent care is the fast food of the medical industry. The quality of treatment sucks, but it's a quick and convenient way to score more Vicodin.

    Shattenkirk

Shattenkirk is going to get MASSIVELY overpaid and the last thing this team needs is another bad contract. In my opinion he is a very good 2nd pairing defenseman / power-play quarterback. He's not a legit top pair guy. No thanks!

He will, and it will be a mistake that hurts the rebuild. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

I agree he's been top 5 for awhile now. Guess he can't stop everything. Same with Price. Both Nashville and Montreal are built from the net out (although Rinne has a much better D to help him, which is probably why Nashville is in the Finals and the Habs are long gone). Both are counted on a lot, probably too much.

I've been saying this for awhile now. Not that its any fault of the Pens, but they're not having to go through anyone good to win these championships. Last year they played the Rangers (they own Lundqvist), the Caps (a franchise the Pens have been beating in the playoffs for literally decades), a severely banged up Lightning team and the cinderella Sharks. This year, they get the Blue Jackets (who turned back into the Jackets we all know and love late in the season), the Caps again, the Sens (who shouldn't even be this deep in the playoffs) and now they'll face the Preds (the lowest seeded team in the entire playoffs). Do you remember back in the 90s when the Wings would have to go through the Stars and Avs just to get to the Finals? The Pens have like a 70-90% chance of winning each series they're in. Partly due to their talent, of course, but the lack of competition is REALLY helping them out. Even in 09 they didn't have to face anyone difficult until they got to us and we nearly beat them despite all of our injuries. Boston and NJ, both teams the Pens struggled against a lot in the regular season, lost to Carolina, who were then swept by the Penguins.

    2017 Draft

Pretty much. To me, it doesn't really matter who goes first and second. If Patrick and Hischier go first and second, the #3 pick probably costs something like Nyquist/Tatar + our 1st (assuming Nill would even be all that interested in Nyquist or Tatar in the first place), which I personally think is too much. If Patrick or Hischier is available at #3, Nill takes him. Or someone pays a king's ransom for the pick. So, no matter who's available at #3, we're not getting that pick. IMO.

    2017 Draft

Yeah, it would be a shocker if Patrick / Hischier didn't go one / two, but as we seen last year with Dubois going 3rd ahead of Puljujarvi, anything is possible. I don't want any part of moving up in this year's draft. It's very possible that one of Glass, Suzuki or Tippett will be available at 9, and if they're not I'd be completely okay with moving back a few spots and picking up another 2nd to take one of Liljegren or Foote. I'd like some sort of scenario where we could trade back to around 14th and pick up another 2nd, and then trade one of our 2nd's and one or two of our 3rd's to pick up another 1st... We end up with two 1st's, one 2nd and two 3rd's...

    2017 Draft

I think Andersson or Kylington could do well enough in a sheltered role. Maybe, maybe not. Dennis Wideman, Michael Stone, and Deryk Engelland are all eligible for unrestricted free agency and I feel Green is better than each of them. Giordano, Hamilton, Brodie, Green could be one of the very best top fours in the league. Mind you, I'm not necessarily saying the Flames are the best hypothetical fit for Green. Eh, perhaps. He does seem to elevate his game in the AHL playoffs, but I'm not convinced he's going to become anything more than a bottom-six grinder at the NHL level.
