No matter how much I disagree with someone, I at least respect people enough to give value to what they say. (Even if I think it's absurd) I am sorry that you can't give me the same courtesy. No more point in continuing a discussion. You can't reason with someone who thinks your entire ideology or belief system isn't just flawed, but irrelevant or without merit because they can't accept other viewpoints besides their own. It's not enough to disagree, its like that person isn't even worthy enough to have an opinion. I am sorry. I will make sure that I confer with you next time before I have an opinion so that I know its ok to have one.

Yzerman was easily the 3rd/ 4th best player in the league. Generational talent. Toews was no where close to that. At best Toews might have been a top 10 player maybe for a year or two but has since fallen off completely. Crosby, Malkin, Kane, Seguin, Tavares, Ovechkin and many more are better players. You're also the guy who put Toews above Datsyuk. Datsyuk would skate circles around Toews and leave his jockstrap in Kane's mom's apartment all the same time.

It's called modesty. To think Toews is anywhere near an Yzerman type level is crazy. Toews is so overrated it's absurd.

At the 24-game mark last year, Henrik Zetterberg led the team with 16 points. This season four Wings have more points than that, as Justin Abdelkader and Mike Green each have 17. Tomas Tatar had four goals among seven points last year at this point; today he has seven goals and 11 points. Seven players have at least five goals; last year, it was two. One area that really sticks out is power play production – Mantha has five goals, Tatar and Martin Frk each have three. That’s as many power play goals the Wings had as a whole team at this point last year, and puts the power play overall at 22.7 percent, ninth in the NHL. The increased production puts the team at 14th overall in GF and 21st overall in GF/GP. Better than last season, but definitely mediocre.

We're basically stealth tanking. Decently competitive team that's doing decently well but will very likely finish in the bottom 8-10. What I really don't want next season is for us to be the oldest team in the league again. No more egregious oldness plz.

The C is not Abby's. I'm genuinely surprised that people think this will be a thing. I guess time will tell which of us is right. (Srsly tho, I'm right. )

Yeah I really don’t see Abby getting passed over for it. This team doesn’t just hand the C to young players. People can use Yzerman to refute that, but he was given it during a really bad period in franchise history where they were looking for a young talented star to help turn things around and put asses in the seats again. The Wings handing him the C is no different than the Crosby/Ovie/McDavid thing I posted before. Generational players. You wanna keep them happy, show your glad to have them on board and give them the reigns while you use them as a cornerstone to rebuild. Larkin isn’t on that level, and Wings aren’t in that bad of a spot. Pretty sure the C is Abby’s.
