Holland and Blashill expected to return

It would probably be Holland as Vice President at that point. And I don't think Yzerman would fail. Without the whole "streak" thing anymore, he could pretty much do what he did in Tampa. -

Sedin Twins Calling it a Career After Season
NerveDamage and one other reacted to xault for a post in a topic
Z the next great Sweden to retire. Z gonna need 2 more season to catch Daniel, I don't know about Henrik. I think he plays one more season, finishes just behind Daniel breaking into 1000, guessing around 1010 points. The Sedin's still have little more than 200 games played on Z, which is kind of crazy to think about. I wonder if Bäckström can catch or pass Alfredsson. He'll be around 1073 if he can avg 70 for the next 4 years. Which makes him 34-35 I think. -
1 pointThere's a difference between retiring with term left on your contract and leaving with term left to go play in a different league.

2018 draft , who's your 2 picks in 1stR
xault reacted to LeftWinger for a post in a topic
It's supposed to be deep as well. highlighted by the player that Bob McKenze says, if he were in the 2018 draft, he would be the ONLY player to knock Dahlin out of the #1 spot. Jack Hughes. IF for some reason we don't get Dahlin this season, I would love to see a Tank for Hughes! Hell, even if we got Dahlin, I'd still love to try to tank for Hughes. -

Glad you pointed that out - I overlooked that! But look at the games for Forsberg -- he really was a beast when healthy, as much as I hated the guy! If he played as many games as Sundin he would be far and away the leading point scorer. -
1 pointI completely disagree that our goaltending depth is thin. That is by far our most stacked position in my opinion. Larsson and Petruzzelli are very good goaltender prospects, both with the ceiling to become NHL starters. Van Pottelberghe, Machovsky and Fulcher all have potential as well. You need one of these guys to pan out. That's it. We will have two 1st's, two 2nd's, three 3rd's, a 4th, two 6th's, and a 7th, once the Flyers officially make the playoffs. Hopefully we will acquire another pick or two this summer. I personally wouldn't use a 1st, 2nd or 3rd round pick on a goaltender, unless one really drops to us in the 3rd, the way Petruzzelli did last year. If we use one of our 6th's or 7th on a goaltender, that's fine. But it shouldn't be a priority in my opinion. We need to stock up on defensemen and centers mostly, but I'd put priority on wingers (right shooting) over goaltenders as well. Goaltending should be the last of this teams concerns.

1 pointJesus look at the amount of games played for the Sedins compared to Zetterberg.

Twins are weird. The Sedins are no different. I wonder if they always wore matching clothes everyday and that sort of thing? Both will likely make the Hall of Fame and were very consistent players. Both members of that 2006 Swedish team (which will end up having an impressive list of HOF players). Came so close to the Cup in 2011, which will be the only knock on their resume. -

So, I guess Zetterberg will finish above them on the all-time Swedish scoring list. -

As much as I would love to see Stevie come home I realistically don't see it happening. First he has built up a dynamo down in FL and should be competing for a cup for bit of time. Second he comes home and fails he has the chance of tarnishing his image. How would you like to be the guy who fires the captain ? -
1 pointThat too. But the 4th moving up to a 3rd was a given all along. Quite a few picks coming up in the next couple drafts. Kenny making them scares me. Having Kenny around at all scares me.

1 pointWell put. Mrazek is in the past in Detroit now. He’s in Philly, doing what he did here, playing excellent and horrible seemingly depending on what he feels like doing that day when he gets up. Played well recently after Neuvirth yanked his groin stopping a shot half a game into his return, and was excellent again today against Boston. He’ll Probly take a game or two off then play like he cares again in the playoffs. At least he’s heading to the playoffs, good for him. I don’t recall ever hearing of any mental issues during his junior/minor league career though. By all accounts he was calm and confident. I saw him play a few times in the OHL, didn’t seem to struggle. He was only in Toledo for a short period before his callup to GR, where he stayed put.

1 pointThings don’t look good in Chicago with Crawford’s head injury. He might be forced to retire. Could ship Jimmy there for that beer league dude.

1 pointYes, the 5 wins have been hit by Petr. Now we just need any combination of 7 points gained by the Flyers in their remaining 4 games, or 7 points lost by the Panthers in their remaining 6 games. It's likely but not guaranteed. The Flyers have a game against the Bruins, Hurricanes, Islanders and Rangers remaining. The Panthers has 3! of their remaining 6 games against the Bruins, 2 of them in Boston, a game against the Preds, Hurricanes and Sabres. Go Bruins!

When I win both of the lotteries this week, then after I purchased controlling interest in the Red Wings, I will put up ALL 4 numbers before by middle of next season. I will also have a special retirement for #'s 6, 16 and 24.
