His play with the puck has taken a lot of pressure off the D and allowed us to beat the forecheck. He has been a big part of our success.

Even though it seemed like a longshot that NJ would even manage another shot on goal, I'd be furious with that penalty if I was them. Total BS, imo you don't call a penalty like that one unless you're 110% sure you've got it right, it's something that should be let go if it's a 50-50 situation. Anyway, nice win after all. Kept it tight defensively and managed to take advantage on a couple of opportunities. Tatar is one hell of a player. His best play of the night may have been his 2nd assist, terrific strength to hold off the defender and find Nyquist. Then he adds a goal to seal the win. He's been very good the last few games, stepping up when we need it the most. Gustavsson faced some tough shots and did well. Say what you will, he gets the Ws.

So here's a fun fact. The Griffins have outscored their opponents 39-18 the past 10 games (including tonight). Aside from the first 2 home games, back in October, they have scored at least 5 goals at home (also including tonight). Yup a strong veteran presence is always key, thanks goodness for all those goals by the experienced players. Least we know that the future knows how to play well at home.

Why would we buy out Franzen? The guy is playing like a true top 6 power forward and responsible defensively with a 3.9M cap hit. I suppose you'd want Tatar to replace his spot. No coach is dumb enough to do that and certainly not Babcock. I think moving Weiss to the wing will allow him to be an effective part of this team. Then we can save the buyout if Franzen's 3.9M is ever considered an over payment We need a puck moving defensemen. Edler would fit this team nicely then we don't have to play Quincey every night. Great PP guy has put up 60 point seasons and is just now entering his prime. You'd be crazy to not want him on the wings. With his recent performance with the Canucks he would never be cheaper then right now

Yep. Our new interim superintendent (old one retired Nov. 1) is even quicker on the trigger. To be fair there are kids with almost a 1 hour bus ride partly on dirt roads in the district. I'm less than thrilled about the two closings last week (we could have had 2 hour delays) and the early dismissal today since it means losing three rehearsals with a concert coming on Tuesday. Still, the guy impressed me by getting in the trenches to help get the lunch mods through more quickly by helping serve and doing dishes. Back to the game... I've got a feeling it's going to be decided on a broken play. I'd love to see Tatar and Nyquist connect for the winner. Eurotwins, the next generation. If not one of them, then Weiss to get it going.
