I think Dave Feschuk may be hanging out with Rob Ford a little too much. Babcock isn't going anywhere. LOL.... the article speculates Babcock isn't happy, that the Datsyuk and Zetterberg era window has closed and he is waiting to see what upgrades, if any, are made if any this off season before he makes his decision. Makes me laugh because we can ice the same banged up s*** and still be more of a competitor then The Leafs. No. If you are going to make stuff up, at least try to have it make sense. The first "rumour" of yours is awful, not even a 5 year old would make that trade. Not only that, but Nyquist especially is pretty much untouchable after the season he had and the way the organization talks about him. Regarding Franzen for Umberger, that too is false because Columbus is thinking of buying out Umberger so why would Kenny make a trade when he can wait for that to unfold. You sir need to stop making things up.

What seems to get lost when people look at the stat lines on the back of these players hockey cards is the context of the production. Hossa is a game breaker, he can and often does for Chicago have a great shift... Make something happen, ie score, setup a goal, hold the puck down low, play hard defensively etc. Franzen, he floats, gives the puck away, won't throw the body, and puts up points in bunches... Especially when a game is effectively either already won or lost. Bottom line I'd rather have Hossa get a goal in a tight game than have Franzen who scores a goal to make the score 5-2 in a loss.

People really need to stop taking what they hear in interviews literally. "Overripe" means "we don't want to let a vet we trust walk away to call up a kid, then have to send the kid down because he's not ready, hurting his confidence and leaving us with a hole in the roster." "We like our team" means "yeah, we have holes, but I'm not going to call anyone out publicly, and it's not like we're the f--king Isles or Panthers." "Kicked the tires" means "I made a bunch of calls but they wanted our first round pick and our best players and I didn't want to trade any of them. Deal with it." "Getting him back is our deadline acquisition" means the same as "kicked the tires" only they're also getting a good player back from injury, and it will help.

It certainly looked like rust. Two of the Boston goals, if I recall correctly, were screened by the Habs themselves. Was a double OT game enough to knock it off? We'll see...
