My wife and I named our first daughter Abby. Not after player, we just liked the name. After he signed I wanted to get her a number 8 jersey. I finally got around to it. She loves it!!

I'll be there! Hopefully, to see them win. The last two Wings games I went to they gave up 5 goals (5-1 last year at Consol, 5-2 at the Joe this year). It'd be nice if they could NOT give up 5 goals. lol Mrazek needs to be a wall tonight. Let's go Wings!

If Kenny could pull off Jimmy for Happy Huds straight up, I would praise him as God.

Hello Everyone, A few weeks ago, I posted a new topic about going to the Joe and asking you what seats were the best seats to go for. And a few of you answered me which was really appreciated. And you were right, there is no bad seat at the Joe. So, thank you for the people that answered my questions. I did have a great time at the game. I mean it was a 6-5 Redwings game. The only thing that was missing in the game was a fight! I really liked the arena and how it seems like the crowd is on top of the players, you don't get that in many arenas for any professional sports game. It was just a bummer that my friend and his girlfriend couldn't come because she couldn't come in because her purse was too big. I've never seen or heard that was a NHL rule of coming into games? I'm looking forward to this one. I didn't get to watch the game Monday and I've got Friday off so I'll be enjoying a few ginger ales during this one!

I thought he should have sat out the rest of the year, but I'm satisfied his 20 game suspension stuck. Wideman had no excuse. Players get concussed in hockey all the time, and none of them have gone after an official. As mentioned, I think if any reduction in the suspension would have made it open season on the officials, and the player could have said, "Oh sorry, I had a concussion".

Ugh. He Who Shall Not Be Named AND it's on NBC? I don't know if I can take it.

LOL, I feel like Red Wing fans would crap all over Johnny Hockey. All I hear on this board is how our forwards are undersized, I can only imagine the tone if we bring in a kid who is 5'9, 157 pounds. To put that into perspective, Tatar is 30 pounds heavier then he is.

Kenny needs to get creative to get any deal involving Howard and I'm afraid he ain't creative.Jimmy is a wing until the off season for sure.

After reading that report and reading about the text message, I wouldn't have blamed Bettman if he increased the suspension. If he goes to the arbitrator, can the arbitrator increase it?

I've always thought Yandle was a little overrated around here, and Quincey took way too much flack up until recently. However, I'd definitely take Yandle over Quincey if we're just looking at the players, but once you factor in contracts, I'd take Quincey at $4.5M over Yandle at $6M. In saying that, I'd also rather have Ouellet or Jensen at under $1M than Quincey at $4.5M... I don't think we should bring Quincey back next season, unless we're able to get rid of both Ericsson (highly doubtful) and Kindl (somewhat probable). And if we know now that we plan on letting Quincey walk in the offseason, we should try to get a return on him at the deadline, and same goes for Richards. I think we could get a decent return on both players from a contender at the deadline, and I don't think either would be the key to our playoff success this season... Trade both, and replace Quincey with Ouellet and Richards with Pulkkinen or Mantha. I don't think it makes us any worse right now, and gives us a couple more picks to work with going forward...

The issue with Howard is always the same. It's not that he's just hot garbage every game. It's that he's basically GUARANTEED to give up one or two bad goals per game. He can stop 39 of 40 shots and play out of his mind, but he WILL give up one or two bad ones. So the Wings essentially start off playing from behind when the game starts. Not to mention he's very weak mentally when it comes to game psychology.

Guy got what he deserved. It wasn't a "mistake"..he goes right after the ref, whacks him good, then turns right after that to avoid the oncoming player. Not that it really matters to him i'm sure, but hope he enjoys his unpaid vacation and losing almost $600,000.

If he didn't extend his arms in a cross check manner, or avoid an opposing player right after hitting the ref, I can see the "He was concussed" debate. But his actions tell me he was pissed there was no call on the play and took it out on the first Zebra he saw.
