    I miss the good old days as a Wings fan, when I slept through games in March and early April, and wondered who we'd play in the first round.

    I don't blame him. He's been saddled with horrible linemates for years and this team is going nowhere. Would be a big blow for the Wings, but it was going to happen soon anyway. Same with Zetterberg (although you could argue he left for Sweden two years ago and hasn't returned)

    I don't think anyone hates Howard. He's a Red Wing and whichever one of our goalies is currently playing better should play. I have a Howard jersey and I haven't burned it. lol I think what people hate about him is his inconsistency, and how easily he can be rattled. It's hard to feel relaxed watching him play because he's shown he can be great, and he's shown he can be horrible, and there's a very fine line between the two.

    Howard has been saving this team all game. The players in front of him have given the Leafs a million chances they shouldn't have had. That's not sportsmanlike.

    Why does that matter though? If a player wants to retire it's on him, not the team. Having 7 plus million count against the cap for an empty jersey is not good for the team or for a league that wants parity..

    If he wants to go to Russia, trade him to a small market team first, then let him retire from nhl hockey. That way his contract helps a small market team get over the cap floor. Also frees up cap space to go all in on stamkos

    Rule 79.2: Defending Zone - Play will not be stopped for any hand pass by players in their own defending zone. A hand pass in the defending zone is considered to have occurred when both the player making the pass and the player receiving the pass have both of their skates inside their defending zone. PP is once again looking like something we'd rather decline.
