There really are 3 ways to answer this question. 1) Who are the worst 3 players on this team talent wise 2) Who are the worst 3 players in relation to their role 3) Who are the three worst players in relation to their cap hit I am going to answer this question based on a combination of option 2/3 because option 1 is obvious as I dont think anyone would not pick Ott, Miller etc. if we are talking option 1. 1) Mrazek - I think the guy has a super high ceiling, but he has be dreadful this year. His cap hit is no longer low (4mil) and he ranks amongt the worst in the league at his position. As of today he ranks 45/47 in Save % and 42/47 in terms of GAA. Howard in comparison ranks 2/47 in both 2) E - I think this is the guy that the majority of us want off the team. High caphit and poorly playing in a top 4 role. Should be on a third pairing being paid between 1-2million per year (ie. Quincey on NJ money) 3) Sheahan - The guy has been a top 6/top 9 player for the most of the year and does not have a goal to show for it, and its not like the assists are there either. 4) DD - The guys is playing in the 1A role right now and has struggled on D and offensively has 7 points (on par with E). I think he definitely has a bright future, but if we are looking at the guy for how he has performed this season in a bubble for his role/caphit, he's been bad. 5) Kronwall - Paid like a top 4 guy but his body is breaking down. I actually dont have any ill will as the guy has given us everything he has had this past decade, I hope he either goes on LTIR, or gets back to 100%. Though the latter would shock me.

Is this thread really necessary? In fact it's a pretty sad and pathetic thread.

March 8th @ Boston 8pm. Sounds like enough time to get Ott back in the lineup. Keep your head up, Schnoz

how about stop running to the league and handle that stuff on the ice? Oh I forgot the good guys are gone now. With Downey in the lineup that stuff wouldn't go without a response. Also very telling that nobody jumped the guy. While 10.000 is a lot of money it's nothing for Marchand

Finally a thread we can unload on. It's a troll thread no doubt but it's all good, I think we need it. I had to think pretty hard on this as there's just so many "players" on "this team". I thought a good 15 minutes and this is the list I came up with of "players" on "this team" that fit the category. 1. Bill Berzeench 2. The Axe 3. Crymson 4. Mindflye 5. Number9 Honorable Mention : Shocky2002

My issue is if they're going to police the league more they need to stop being partial towards all star players. It's ridiculous. It's almost a slap to the face when they fine these guys peanuts for money. Just don't fine them then. Not to mention Marchand is a repeat offender.

I hate to feed the trolls, but what is "fake hustle"

Anyone that has Miller in their top 5 is an obvious troll. He's the life force of this squad.

At least he's only like a seven time repeat offender.......

https://twitter.com/nhlplayersafety/status/824676210844323840 No suspension. Do they want street justice? Cause this how you get street justice. Department of Player Safety is useless. If Kronwall was hurt on the play would that have changed things?

Absolutely disgusting response by the NHL. Utterly embarrassed to consider this league one that I've followed and backed as a fan for almost 3 decades. Shea Weber and now this Rat gets away with it.

Ott and Miller are 4th liners. They aren't out there to produce offensively. I'd rank underachievers like Nyquist and Tatar below those players this year.

100% agree, which is odd because you would think player safety would matter to them. I dont even care what you do with the fines. Take them and place them into the escrow account, I dont care. I'm guessing their issue is if a coach tells a player to do something, and then gets fined while the coach has no punishment. Maybe it is a bit more complicated then it appears at first glance. Either way, something needs to change.

    1. Uwe Krupp 2. Derian Hatcher 3. Brett Lebda 4. Jonathan Ericsson 5. .... Can't think of the fifth, nobody come even remotely close to those magnificent four.

    1. Ericsson 2. Sheahan 3. Mrazek 4. Jurco 5. Dekeyser This year these are my fab five. Honorable mentions: Abdelkader(game changing idiotic penalties), Kronwall(no more hitting equals no more good defenseman), Mike Green(thank God he can score because his defense makes me constipated), Ott is truly not good at anything hockey related, Tatar and Nyquist are the biggest pansies ever to wear the jersey...

Which one is the fact, and which one is the alternative fact?

Its actually probably even more pitiful than the numbers indicate. The cost of daily living is a much larger percentage of someone's total salary who makes 60k vs someone who makes 5M (unless you're living a ridiculously expensive lifestyle), so that $120 becomes a relatively larger chunk of the remaining free money of a 60k salary than the 10k that Marchand is losing.

Wow! I thought it was a joke before, but seeing the actual number really puts it into perspective as to how pathetic their system is.

I don't disagree that this roster needs work also. We are lacking a franchise defensman, we are lacking a franchise forward (or two), and if people want to move Howard, we are also lacking a franchise goalie. I would pursue these pieces regardless of the coaching situation, but my point (which I surmise you agree with) is that the talent we do have isn't playing up to their abilities, and if they were we would be in the thick of the playoff race. Hell, if the Wings had an average powerplay and nothing else changed we'd be in the thick of the playoff race.

During the game they posted a graphic that showed they have 8 rookies on the team responsible for something like 170 of their team's points this year.

Jurco - Wants to move on ?

Jurco played a very solid game, good defensively (despite his -2 rating), hard on the forecheck, but alas, he didn't put up any points. And because of this, he will be scratched as soon as Vanek or Larkin come back, despite looking better out there than a handful of other forwards. Because Blashill is a f***ing moron...
