Do you mean "prefer a buyout"? Players can't accept or reject a buyout. I would have to imagine that if he was bought out, some team would likely give him a shot with a PTO at least, if not a 1 year deal.

It all depends on how close to the cap they are, and what their plan is. If they are way under the cap, it makes more sense to just put him in the AHL and eat it. If they plan on acquiring UFA's and making trades in the off-season, then they should consider it. My gut tells me AHL.

Any goalie they pick up for short term help would have to be waived to make room for Elliot’s return. Don’t want to have to give up much just to turn around and do that. Niemi would fit that. He could be had for next to nothing and has a cheap cap hit. But I don’t see Philly being in the goalie market.

Prospect has an attribute that makes him stand out somehow, does well in GR, and has a decent debut, and some people start insisting he's going to be a star, especially if he's from Michigan. Then he turns into a 2nd pair D/2nd line forward, and he's terrible because he's not as good as the people hyping him up previously thought he'd be.

AA has a lot of speed, but is overrated on this forum. He wasn't a great scorer in Grand Rapids and hasn't been putting up big numbers in Detroit either. He's not irreplaceable.
