To the bold...That's probably an accurate estimate. Being a fan of Dats I'm probably a bit too generous claiming he'll play 70 to 75 games, and garnering 50 sumthin pts. Either way - I'd love to see him play a season, or two with the Wings before he hangs the skates up for good.

Ok. I'd pick Datsyuk over Nielsen. Based on the translation factor Dastyuk would have had roughly 30 pts in just 50 games in the NHL this year, or 47 over 82 if he played. That's a helluva lot better than 25 pts out of Nielsen in 82. Plus Datsyuk hits our books for about 1 to 1.5 whereas Nielsen hits it for 5+.

If Witkowski is back, there's no reason he should not get an A. His beard and manliness are the kind of leadership qualities exemplified on Game of Thrones. Larkin and Kronwall get the other A. If Kronwall is gone, it goes to Green.

Yeah everyone around lottery time was saying "I'd almost rather pick 2nd than 1st so I wouldn't have to choose between Hughes and Kakko". I'm starting to think 3rd is an even worse spot to be in in that regard, because after the top 2 it's a completely open playing field. I feel very comfortable at 6. A great player is going to fall to us regardless of what happens and it probably won't have to be a huge debate for us.

Yes, that's exactly it. A junior player is eligible to play in the AHL if they will be 20 years old by December 31st of that season OR has already played 4 seasons in the CHL. Because Veleno was granted exceptional status, he's already played his 4 years of junior and can play in Grand Rapids next season. I think he has a real shot to make the Red Wings roster out of camp next season, but wouldn't be surprised to see him start with in GR. I think he'll get a good look in Detroit at some point next season though.

The Canes have a good, young, up and coming team, that are a lot of fun to watch. To say you can't watch the series because you don't like the jersey's is absurd... By the way, the logo is a "hurricane", not a f***ing rose... They may not be the most aesthetically pleasing jerseys, but they're not that hideous to not be able to watch the games... The only thing I don't like about that current team is their sideshow post game celebrations, but I'm not going to go full Don Cherry and rant and rave about it...
