I don't know about the rest of you but these multiple days between games is worse than the off season.

All I want to know is this: 1. Who the hell does Alfredsson play with when he comes back? 2. How is Cleary going to get those 10 games? 3. Why hasn’t Quincey sucked yet?

Guy walks into The Home Depot. Asks the greeter "Where can I find Milan Lucic? The greeter says: "Tools, Aisle Six".

I 100% agree that the Seguin trade was a bad trade on Boston's end, but it wasn't just a "hockey" trade. I remember at the time Seguin's character was being questioned regarding his supposed late night partying. http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/2013/07/05/tyler_seguins_mom_lashes_out_at_boston_media_over_partying_reports.html I think Boston's issues this year are a combination of losing Iginla, Boychuck, Krejci's injury, possibly a regression due to age, facing good competition, but most likely just a slump. If they are playing this way in a month, Bruins fans should maybe be concerned. Its just a few games into an 82 game season. I think losing Thornton has absolutely nothing to do with it.

I used to dream of having Lucic in Detroit but he is nothing more than a bigger version of Sean Avery. He has no respect for the game, his colleagues nor the fans. I can't stand him since seeing him stick a helpless DK in the gooch last season. He is a 200+ lbs 2 year old baby except his tantrums will eventually serious injure someone. I first saw the animated gif of this last incident with him raising his arms to taunt the crowd and thought "whats the big deal". But when you see the full clip and makes the jack off gesture to the crowd first I think it is a big deal and he needs to have his shackles put back on and to be drug back to his cage at the zoo where these kinds of behaviours are expected. I get that its an emotional game and the fans in Montreal aren't the friendliest but there are kids watching for pete's sake. The guy is a tool and needs some punishment for his crap.

I agree you do whatever it takes to keep him, but blashill has more to do with the development and preparation of the kids.I'd honestly be okay if ilitch threw the checkbook to babs and blashill just to keep the system stable and on this course.give babs a little more power, like assistant or co-gm, or just add another fancy word like executive blahblah that way he's not just a head coach making a players wage. Blashill is the extension of Babcock that has made our kids transition so smooth. They have the same systems in place, he expects the same out of his guys, they're, IMO, the best pro coach/minor team coach tandem in sports. They compliment each other perfectly, and I'd really like to keep it together. Even if blashill ends up making the salary of an average NHL hc, its not like coaches $counts against the cap. And in today's game its becoming glaringly obvious that the minor league affiliate is crucial to the teams success, but the hC gig in the big league is probably too appealing for him, honestly. But it'd be awesome if he would just take the pay raise to stay on with gr.

I'm sure he will, he hasnt played in almost a year, and even when he played a year ago he was rusty from missing half a season the previous year. LOL, I dont think its possible for there to be a thread on this board where the names Cleary, Quincey, or Kindl are not brought up.

What does winning a cup in Pittsburgh really prove though? They have won a cup before, and they are loaded with talent. I see him going there being similar to a Labron James situation, where rather then getting respect, people will say he just took the easy path. If he were to leave, I think it would do much more for his legacy to go and win a cup in a place that has never done it such as a San Jose or a St. Louis. Though, I think staying and doing it with a completely different generation of players in Detroit would be much more impressive.

100 agree jimmyemeryhunter I cant believe most ppl are wanting to have miller and andy off that forth line when it has been amazing so far I don't want that line messed with when there isn't nothing wrong with it remember if ant broke I would assume though someone needs t be moved to lighten the load which is why if everyone continues to play as they have I would be ok with moving Weiss if he wanted to waive the trade clause and if we could package him and kindl for a good top 4 d man hell yea that gives us a win/win both ways keeps a strong forward lineup and a good defensive lineup you might even beable to sneak Ouellete in there too to get him to play as well than you couldn't imagine the progress

I'm glad to see the building go. Yes, there have been plenty of memories and great players, but that happens at most arenas. At some point, the building becomes outdated and renovation is not feasible. There's no real way they could widen the seats and add leg room without gutting the whole bowl. Can't expand the concourses either. The sad part, to me, is that the Joe is less than 10 years older than the Palace, but they're light-years apart as far as arena quality. Everything about the new arena says it'll be done correctly, and that's really exciting.

But miller and Andy are huge reasons that our pk is perfect. And the fourth line has been amazing. I'd much rather see Jurco here, but in all honesty, more time in gr could do wonders for him. I think they'll have to waive cleary, because something tells me someone would claim nestrasil. At least, I hope they'd waive cleary. Nestrasils not great, but he's muchhh better than danny, and he's only going to get better. I'd hate to lose him for nothing. He's made some mistakes, but he's big, strong, decently fast, heavy on the puck, and he's really good along the boards.

When Dats comes back, I bet you will see Jurco move back down to Grand Rapids.

Even just 5 games in, it's getting tough for me to see where Weiss is going to slip into the line-up, barring any injuries. 1st and 4th lines are performing very well, The Kid line just looks snakebitten, but they're getting chances. 3rd line could use a boost, at times. Nestrasil shows flashes on one play, then shows some growing pains the next, IMO. I wonder about Helm's health... he seems a step off to me right now. Really, once Datsyuk gets back, I have no idea where and when Weiss gets to jump in. Having Joker as the 4th line RW has allowed him to slot into C on the 2nd PK unit, which as a whole, has been fantastic. I had very low expectations for Andersson, but I have to admit, he looks much faster and is doing some solid work on the 4th line and PK.

The Joe is absolutely a dump, but it's ours, so you still love it. It's like when people rag on the city of Detroit. I do it too in jest, but when someone else does it, you right away come to the city's defense. I don't know that I will necessarily miss the outdated features of the Joe whatsoever, though there's still something redeeming about going there and experiencing a game (especially in the playoffs). I'm 6'3" so I will be thankful for any seating where my legs aren't numb while attending a game. I guess more than anything I just have a ton of great memories from my childhood and growing up watching the Wings at the Joe. You can take those along to the new arena, but it is a little sad that the Joe won't be there at all in a few years.

Holy crap, there were a lot of Leafs fans there last night. I usually like it when Leafs fans show up - they get the Joe rockin', but there were some trolls in my section. I was a little overly joyful they had to make the trek home disappointed. Leafs' defense played extremely well last night. I'm not surprised we struggled to score. I wasn't thrilled when they pulled the trap out of the old bag of tricks a few times, but their backchecking was nothing short of stifling. Wings played very unevenly - moments of brilliance along with moments of WTH, but a surprisingly good 0-0 game through 3. I wouldn't mind seeing Phaneuf choke on a Timbit sometime soon though.

Find myself hating that guy more and more. He really does nothing for the sake of his own reputation. Two biggest rats in the NHL play for the same team

Joe Louis Arena to be Demolished

You think there is a bad seat? I'll bet you a pair of tickets you won't find one seat with an obstructed view, no poles or signs blocking your view of the ice from the nose bleeds to the front row in any section.
