Whew! Was worried I wasn't going to be able to post this, but I backed up right into it!

At the end of the day, the playoffs are based on a record though 82 games. In 82 games, we won enough to earn a playoff spot. Am I happy about the last two games...no. But, the season is not a 3 game season. I just hope the Wings that come out in the playoffs are the same team I watched shutout Philly earlier in the week.

The defensive argument goes out the window when you can't score. Mantha and AA score. So what if they're on the ice for a goal against if they score one or two? For right now, with the assets we have, that's okay. There's only like six defensively talented guys on the whole squad anyway. Not everyone on a team can be a defensive stalwart. You do have to score, and when things tighten up in the playoffs watch our offense evaporate completely.

The Wings have now been in the playoffs consecutively for half of my life. No wonder this half has been better than the first.

Not a great way to get in, and obviously some changes need to be made. BUT It feels amazing to be in and see the streak continue, regardless of all the bitching being done by the #tankit haters!

The thing that I look at is were not seen or looked at as a contender so that means we have nothing to lose, so why play it safe and try to as we say "lean on the vets" there are a lot of exciting kids Larkin, AA, Mantha, at times even tats and goose so why not embrace them there fast, hungry, and skilled why not? What is there to lose? I'm not saying sit pav and Z if anything I say we put them together with a guy like Larkin and let them dominate. Ya it may leave the rest of the group as considered to be inexperienced but those inexperienced guys also have talent, speed, and are hungry. Turn these guys loose play fast and let the kids play, I think we'd be a lot better

40+ points is worth $4M+, goal short of 20 or not. Especially for a guy as versatile as Abby. In the last 69 games of the season, he had as many points as Zetterberg.

The whole team has played like trash more or less all season. Mrazek has been a dumpster fire since his birthday, and for the most part it has had little to do with the play in front of him. Since he started playing bad, Howard has been much sharper. This is why he's been getting the starts. Not because he gets paid more, but because he has been giving the team the best chance to win. If it was because of his bigger paycheck, Howard would have been the starter all season long, and that clearly wasn't the case from October to February.

He had 19 goals in the season. 19 or 20 more or less he's a 20 goal scorer. Your point/post is kinda nullified lol.

I'm happy we're in and I'm obviously hoping for the best, but this doesn't feel like other years. I have a hard time saying honestly that I think this team belongs in the playoffs. Mrazek carried them for several months to a better record than they deserved as a whole, and when he slipped, the cracks became all the more clear. We'll see how it goes, but I hope they come out hard as a team and prove they belong there, because right now, they simply are lucky.

If he wants to go to Russia, trade him to a small market team first, then let him retire from nhl hockey. That way his contract helps a small market team get over the cap floor. Also frees up cap space to go all in on stamkos
