Wasn't liked by his teammates? Tell that to Larkin, then, because he seemed genuinely pissed about the trade and even said that AA WAS liked and wanted to stay in Detroit. As for AA's defense, it was no worse than a young Yzerman's, before a certain coach was brought in. This team's biggest problem is Blashill.

Heres the thing about Babs. Hes probably a hard man to play for. And not very likable. But he squeezes the goods out of teams. He had no business being in the playoffs late with the wings but adapted to shutdown D and got them there. When players tried to get him fired Holland shut them down and made their lazy asses deal with the hard man. All the same crap happened in Toronto but Dubas caved to his stars unlike Holland. Good luck with setting that precedent. Its not condusive to winning if you ask me. Babs would crack the whip on this mess of a team, and every single person here knows that would be a goid thing

Well we traded AA might as well trade Larkin and maybe you can field a team of non-scoring back checkers that you all can drool over and save the rest of us time tuning in.

The "endorsement" of Blashill must be Stevie class at this point! This team is 100% garbage, no coach would have a good winning percentage... but a lack of talent is NO EXCUSE for a lack of hustle/effort. This team is lazy and it sucks!

CRL sorta convinced me that Babs may be our best bet behind the bench if any of Gallant/Laviolette/Cooper (if the Bolts exit early) aren't available, or unwilling. Looking at the Leafs - they're more inconsistent with Keefe (the guy the players, and Dubas want) behind the bench than Babs ever was. Don't get me wrong - he's no saint, but I really want a harda$$ making sure these guys play like their paycheck demands of them.

When I stayed at the Greektown Casino (was about 8 years ago, and the Wings were still playing at the Joe, and I was off my leash) the 'People Mover' had a stop at both locations which made it cheap, and easy. Looking at the website - it'll be a hike to the LCA from the closest 'People Mover' station which would be the 'Grand Circus Park'...IMHO - best to head to Corktown, and park for free, and ride a shuttle bus which will drop you off a block away from the LCA.

Was there in 14 for Lidstrom #retirement - stayed at Greektown Casino (convenient) - had BBQ at Slows ("OK" maybe a little overrated but you'll likely pass old Tiger Stadium site en route and are about 20 feet away from Michigan Central) - went to Motown Museum (totally rad) - ate some coneys at Lafayette - did go to Hockeytown Cafe (it's like Hard Rock - wayyyyyy to on the nose for me, but hey, it's close to LCA) Have a great time @arag

Again, its an evaluation year. What would firing Blashill in the middle of the year accomplish? Maybe they win a few more games. Bylsma would probably be the interim head coach and you probably wouldn't want him going forward, so you bring in another coach in the offseason. You really think giving a young team 3 different coaches in the span of a year is a good idea? Let him ride it out, see if he can work through it and if he can't (and I don't think he will), move on. People complained about Yzerman getting robbed by trading AA for 2 second rounders. Teams aren't going to give up much for what would be their backup goalie. If Bernier gets traded for a 6th round pick, people would be complaining "Yzerman got fleeced!". But since he didn't trade him, now its "What an idiot! Winning doesn't matter anymore" Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Holland's trades, signings and draft picks is why we're in this situation in the first place. Over the past ten years, Holland has slowly destroyed the Wings. Over the past ten years, Yzerman took a franchise that was in a rebuild and made them one of the top teams in the league. When you're one of the best GMs in hockey over the past 10 years, yes you get free passes. Not forever, but at this point, less than one year into his job as Wings GM, yes he does. Not excuses. Just talking crazy people off the ledge. Yes I am. Holland did make a mistake signing Abby to that deal and it IS his job to know better than us. He didn't do his job well and hadn't been doing his job well for sometime. As I mentioned earlier, if Stevie makes these bad signings/trades/draft picks for a few years, then yes, he deserves any and all heat. Until then, like Yzerman said, be patient. Based on what criteria? They have the worst record in the NHL, so are we supposed to give them an F? We knew they were not going to be good this year before the season even started, so maybe we give them a C? We're in a rebuilding year, evaluating what we have from players to coaches and I'm sure the front office has learned a lot, which is what their goal was from the start. So do we give them an A? Their really isn't way to "grade the season" seeing as how different people within the franchise had different goals.
