It was Philly that got super lucky. They had the worst odds and got the second pick. Nj ended up like 5th worse so not a huge jump compared to Philly.

The Leafs traded their 1st round pick to Boston in the Phil Kessel trade, that was the pick that ended up being Seguin.

I don't think anyone wants these guys to sit around and not do anything. I think people want them to try their hardest but still come short.

That's good news? There's no confirmation there will be a Seattle franchise, and even if there is, it would be a few years before they'd actually get a team. That means a few more years of Ken Holland. He should step down after the season.

Eklund is the epitome of "throw enough s*** at the wall and some is bound to stick". Zero credibility. The last thing this organization needs is another boom or bust goalie prospect. I know you don't have much faith in Mrazek, but it's still possible that he could be here for another 6+ years. Of course, it's also possible he could be gone in the next week... Regardless, we have Keith Petruzzelli, Filip Larsson and Joren Van Pottelberghe that are all boom or bust goaltenders at the same age as Samsonov. While he looks like he could be the real deal, as we've seen with Mrazek, goaltending is such a crap shoot. I'd rather bank on one of the guys already in our organization panning out, rather than bringing in another goalie at a high price tag. If we're trading for prospects, it needs to be for defensemen, centers, and (right shooting) wingers. Not goalies...

Green is not going to get us a top prospect AND a first round pick. It's likely going to be one or the other, and maybe an additional piece, like a third round pick or mid tier prospect. Holland really has an opportunity here to redeem himself for some of the bad moves he's made over the past few years. Here's to hoping...
