    Trade Ian White?

White is a known commodity, where as Schultz has yet to play an NHL game. I don't think it would be a very smart move on Kenny's part to weaken even more, an already weak defense, just to pander to some snot nosed kid who demands that he starts for an NHL team. You earn your spot with your play in Detroit. If you don't want to buy into the system, there is not much of a future for you as a player here. This, of course, is just my opinion.

Can't hurt to have him signed on a two-way contract Oh,and he picked Detroit over Minnesota

What Kenny could do: Bring back Hudler as top six forward Bring back for the 2nd tour Sammy as the RW top six forward Bring back for the 2nd tour Lilja to play with Kronwall I don't know why but for the some reasons Holland loves to bring people for the 2nd tour... And they can add Suter without any problems now that Zbynek is gone. http://spectorshockey.net/blog/nhl-entry-draft-rumors-part-one-june-23-2012/ NBC SPORTS PRO HOCKEY TALK: Joe Yerdon cited a “tweet” from Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s Rob Rossi claiming Penguins GM Ray Shero, after trading away Jordan Staal, contacted Nashville Predators GM David Poile to discuss the rights of pending UFA blueliner Ryan Suter. Poile, however, isn’t trading Suter’s rights as he hopes to re-sign him. SPECTOR’S NOTE: It appears Shero has moved away from Suter to Phoenix’s Keith Yandle, though his dealing Zbynek Michalek back to the Coyotes last night could instead signal he’s clearing cap space to take a serious run at Suter via the UFA market on July 1. Report: Penguins to make play for Zach Parise http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2012/06/22/of-course-the-penguins-are-after-ryan-suter-too/#/2012/06/22/report-penguins-to-make-play-for-zach-parise/

    2012 NHL Entry Draft Discussion

Of the two, I would prefer Parise as well, but the Wings needs at this point dictate Suter signing is more imperative. I have my fingers crossed.

Just got back from the draft. My son and I didn't get Stevie to autograph his birth certificate, but we got to see the Stanley Cup, had custom made Upper Deck cards of us and NHL posted our picture on Twitter! Al in all it was a pretty awesome day! https://twitter.com/NHL/status/216538636982812672/photo/1

Ken and Mick will never let us forget that Maltby scored 50.

Sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders, though, which sets him a bar above Grigs, Brunnstrom (when he first arrived in the NHL), Leino, etc. Grigs was arrogant and entitled, as was Brunnstrom. Leino was obsessed with finding a girlfriend and having fun. But from what I've heard Brunner is a no-nonsense kind of guy and that could help him over here. Although credit where credit is due, Brunnstrom has evolved and now has a much better attitude and work ethic.

Great shot, but poor skater and bad defensively? Sounds like a young Brett Hull

    Trade Ian White?

I first noticed White when he played against us in San Jose and thought he was a great little player. When we poicked him up I was so happy, I think White has been a fantastic addition. Low cost, high energy, gives his all, safe and for a small guy he plays bigger then some of our big guys... yes I'm looking at you Ericsson "The friendly giant". Trading White would be a dumb and pointless move imo.

He's a righty. Shoots first. Is amazingly fast. Zero risk, massively high reward. Anyone who doesn't like this move is bat crap crazy.

I guess it depends on how you define soft. If softness is rated on how often you fight or pu your glove in someone's face after the whistle then yeah, Filppula is soft. If it's determined by when the puck is in play, then Filpulla isn't soft at all. He battles hard, and he wins puck battles way more than he losses them. I guess it depends on what you care about when it comes to hockey. Good players or just how "manly" hockey makes you feel. And who cares whether it's self defense or not? If Rocky Balboa instigated a fight with me and I knocked him out, would I still be soft because that was in self defense? If Filpulla was soft he wouldn't ever need to defend himself. And yeah, the announce said Filpulla got hit by Engelland..before he knew Filppula was going to put him on his ass. If all you care about is fights, go watch the ducks or flyers bro. The 32nd highest scoring forward in the league? 12th highest scoring center? Incredible skater, Selke level play? Captain material? Okay, I'll take it. What does someone have to do to make you a fan of them?

Flip is one of those players who puts up nice numbers, and he's a solid player, but he's never wowed me (or a lot of other people). I would only trade him for a player who is as close to a guaranteed upgrade as you could get. He's a great defensive player, but I just don't see him breaking out like so many people hope for every year. He had a good year this year, but does anyone really see him as a game changer like Datsyuk or Zetterberg? Or even someone like Helm, who can string together amazing plays and change the momentum of a game? Again, not trashing Flip, he's got great talent and has some great games, but I just don't see him as indispensable if we can get an upgrade for him and a pick or something.

    Trade Ian White?

Yes, can we please send White off and sign a untested rookie to play in his position. The worst crap I have read in a month of speculation.

My only gripe is that there are no longer links to Red Wings stories from the various media sources. I liked having all the wings headlines in one place. Other than that I like it.

Can we trade Babcock for Ovechkin?

With the Flyers as my second favorite team after Detroit that is one thing I love about them. They got their core talent but have all those young guys just waiting to emerge; with Read and Couturier being the top two. I am right there with you though; I wish the Wings had some assets or some balls to move into the top ten and grab some of that high end talent!

It's pretty comical how many people think unproven players and rookies can walk into Hudler's spot and put 25+25 up.

How's the reading bro? You're replying to someone who mentions how not re-signing Holmstrom will impact the average age of the Wings roster and using the 11-12 roster with Stuart, Holmstrom and Lidstrom to make your argument... as if any of those three would be part of the average age Flashy's talking about.

He'll be a 3rd/4th liner if anything, inwhich he should be on Helms wing... as a third line with helm centering and brunner on his right wing with that beaut of a shot and speed... SPEED OVERLOAD BOYS. But seriously, Helmer should have a hell of a season with Brunner... I think.
