"Clubs who pull their goaltender for an extra attacker during the overtime period (other than on a delayed penalty) will be subject to the potential forfeiture of their one (1) point earned for the tie at the end of regulation in the event the opposing team scores into the empty net." Per 2015 rule changes for 3 on 3 - Board of Governors approval. -

I was at the game and was thrilled with the way we looked. We owned them at even strength. Obviously being shorthanded all game against one of the leagues best teams isn't going to lead to much success. And shootouts aren't Howards thing, but otherwise we looked great. I absolutely don't fear the Caps in a playoff series. We are a MUCH better team than them. Our passing and speed screw them up. It was a game we shouldn't have lost but did, oh well, still happy with the effort. I'd be happy if all our losses came in OT anyway. -

I totally disagree with this. Washington was nothing special last night. -

Q skating... Due back end of January. We'll be a lot deeper on the back end. I always though Smith and E would make a very good pairing Kronwall-Green Quincey-Deke Ericsson-Smith -

Detroit is an awesome city and I highly recommend hitting up one of the many amazing restaurants before the game. I would not recommend parking at Cobo because the traffic afterward is always a mess and I personally have no patience at all for that. I usually park at greektown or the compuware building, hit up a restaurant in that area, then walk/take the free shuttle to the Joe. The downtown area is pretty safe. Lots of businesses are starting to realize this as well and have begun moving in, because the foot traffic has really started picking up in the last few years. -
1 pointIs it possible that he's not playing up to expectations? He's a goal scorer who isn't scoring many goals. Maybe they're disappointed that he's scoring less than much less talented players?

All Purpose Grand Rapids Griffins Thread
nyqvististhefuture reacted to krsmith17 for a post in a topic
There's a Griffins thread in the "Minor and Pro Team Affiliates" section. But yeah, Mantha was a healthy scratch last night for Frk (who ended up scoring the game winner). Nelson was asked after the game if there was any particular reason Mantha was scratched, or if he was having a setback from his concussion symptoms from the fight a couple weeks ago, and Nelson said he was fine, just a "coach's decision"... Seemed very odd to me, especially with how well Mantha has been playing of late... I still think Nelson is a bit of a moron, but the team is finally clicking with 9 straight wins... -

No kidding, hey? If Montreal only threw in a couple of guys who are still looking for their first career goal -
1 pointYes, and if you're willing to eat at Hard Rock Cafe they will validate your parking ticket so you don't have to pay, which is kinda nice.
-
1 pointI think there might be a rule where if they scored on the empty net we would forfeit our overtime point and get no points even though it was an OT loss. Can someone confirm/deny? I'm not 100%

Condon has actually played ahead of Tokarski so I wouldn't look into that too much, still it will be nice to not have to play price. Light em up boys! Too bad I work tonight love these original 6 matchups -

Yeah the Joe is the only arena I've been to where they actually allowed me to go right up to the glass. Was 14 at the time and will never forget how blown away I was when Legwand was right in front of me for the Preds . I was surprised how big the NHL players were. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about that arena. I've been to 4 now and nothing is even remotely the same. All seats are top notch thanks to the 1 large bowl. The rafters alone are legendary. Also, if you've been to Baltimore, I'd say you have nothing to worry about in Detroit haha -

Yes that is true. That's what I meant earlier in my first post. They definitely allow you to go down to the glass and watch the players shoot around. Even if you're upper bowl. It's awesome watching the players come out of the tunnel and shoot puck around and do some mini drills. -

I also had my first game at the Joe, travelling from Sudbury (few hours north of Toronto)about 8 years ago. Its for sure a different atmosphere compared to say, Toronto, but I can comfortably say you have nothing to worry about when it comes to danger. Plan where your going before hand and make sure to go early. Id even try to be there for 5 oclock just to make sure you dont miss ANYTHING. If thats too early just go eat at a restaurant close to the arena or something. Soak up the experience, I found Detroit a very unique city. (Maybe because it was the first time and only time I had seen an American city) The Joe is a beautiful arena on the outside (those steps ) and the actual ice area is beautiful as well. I don't remember where we parked but from what I remember it wasnt bad at all. We walked about 5 minutes to the arena. -
1 pointSince it's your first time I'd try to get there by 6:30. Not because you wouldn't find a parking spot but because there is a bit of a walk + you should familiarize yourself where you park and which way you'll need to walk back once game is over. Also you will have enough time to see the guys get on ice before the game and take your son to watch the players shoot pucks pre-game. Also I've been to lots of Wings games since 90s and have never witnessed any crime around the Joe. But make sure you follow your GPS or whatever you're using for directions carefully because just like any urban city - weather its Detroit, Chicago or New York, if you turn into the wrong ally it might be a bit creepy. There's tons of police cars outside the Joe once game is over as well for traffic reasons - so it's all good.

2 big reasons this should be a win. -
1 pointAfter how that ot against the caps looked, I'll settle for any shots on the power play Boston helped us a little yesterday.. here's to hoping for a regulation win to further shrink the gap between us and first in the division! LGW!
-
1 pointYes they should. And the players should be forced to wear a Pinnochio long nose while doing the jailtime. Also, you should have posted this in the newly created Around the league thread, I think. At least I would have.

Give him a break. Doc hasn't been around for a bit. He's gotta get re-acclimated with current protocols. -
1 pointI don't blame Jimmy for the S/O loss We know he blows at them. I'm blaming Nyquist for doing the same predictable move and Datsyuk for the same one of two moves he's done in the last 20 shootout attempts. Anyways that's that. Least we got a point.
