Lovely GDT, Mikey, thank you! And Happy New Year to all of you here on LGW! What they really need is Miller, Big E and my Pookie back in the lineup. That would help in so many ways, but I have faith they will pull up their hockey socks and win this one. We will all go into 2016 with a big smile and stick tap to 2015. I believe!

I didn't edit this other than to take it from an mp4 format to a gif. This puck really really did this in Montreal vs Florida tonight. I guess I should say "happened" to the Habs

1st PP unit is sticking Zetterberg and Datsyuk together. I prefer this.

Looks like Ericsson is back.

Lose or win, something tells me Zetterberg is gonna get the team moving in the right direction. He has showed that grit in situations which makes the team pause, reflect and follow him and give the needed extra push & effort. I saw it in his one eye after the game against Winnipeg, he's gonna make sure they do it right tonight.

Big E is back tonight. What the hell, maybe that will shake things up a little.

I'll be there with the family. We drove 4.5 hours yesterday from Pittsburgh. It'll be just my second (and probably last game) at the Joe. My kids are beyond excited for the game. We got pics in front of the Joe yesterday. Here's hoping this is a blowout win for the Wings and not another "blow the lead, go to OT and lose" kind of game. My brother is a hardcore Pens fan and he doesn't think the Pens have chance tonight. So here's hoping he's right lol

A 35 year old Zetterberg who has "Sucked" lately has the same amount of points with less games played (by 1) than Stamkos. If Z sucks and can still put up as much as he has. I'm wondering how he would be if he had an actual scoring winger. Same goes for Pav. Even as "bad" as him and Pav have been, they've still had better outlet passes than any forward on our team. Even last game.

Yes, but, maybe Nosek can put some goals in....it was no problem putting Larkin on the top line before he had any experience. I know he looked like he was NHL ready, but until he played in that spot we didn't know for sure. Maybe the skill of Nosek can put a spark in that line. Helm absolutely does nothing for that line and can barely hit an open net, Abby just isn't top line material, I don't care about pulling piano's or pulling legs, Abby (mad don't get me wrong, I like him) doesn't belong on the 1st line, he is best at checking and putting in some goals, like a 3rd or 4th liner. I believe he got paid too much and the Wings will regret it...much like Erection and so far Nyquist. Erection has come and gone () but at least Nyquist can grow some more, Erection has grown all he can and is now on the softening part of his hard career....ok, ok, I'll stop! If Nosek doesn't gell with Datsyuk, switch it up again, but as it stands, neither Abby nor Helm belong in the top 6. Maybe when Pulk returns, try him again with Datsyuk....but when that happens, we'll be looking to trade someone for sure, too many forwards at the NHL level that cannot be sent down. ...maybe switch Nosek up with Tatar, but I just didn't want to mess with the 3rd's chemistry... Letting in few soft goals in the beginning of the games Howard affects the way the games are played further. Playing from behind is tough in this league, especially, when there is so much parity between the teams. I don't really have statistics to back up my words but something tells me that falling down by two goals is basically equals to loosing the game. And I'm not even talking about confidence of players who are well aware that each and every shot is a potential goal. Have you noticed how our defenseman try to block every 30ft shot if we have Howard in net? Completely different story with Mrazek in net. They just let him see these shots.

I think it has more to due with watching Howard for the whole of his now 7 years as a starter, knowing this is pretty much what you're going to get from him, and then watching Mrazek get called up last year and 1) slide into the backup role 2) Play well enough to make it a 1A/1B situation 3) Win the starting job for the playoffs and now 4) Playing slightly better than Howard and giving the team a slightly better chance at winning. Add in that this is his first full year in the league and well....(I mean Howard did the same thing to Osgood. First full year in the league was backing up Ozzy, but halfway through the season he had become the number 1. The only difference is Ozzy was clearly at the end of his career, whereas Howard is not.) If you had two pitchers that were both pretty good (like either one would be the ace of the pitching staff if they were on different teams), you're still going to want to start the one who is slightly better (or at least playing slightly better at the time). It doesn't matter how much better Slightly better is still better, and the one who's better should be given preference. Mrazek is slightly better. That's all there is to it.
