Coreau is rock solid this season and one of our more positive surprises. In fact he did make a strong case for being the starter over Mrazek. While you can blame Blashill for many mistakes this isn't one. Stay save !

I agree, but there are also plenty of us that lie somewhere in between. Mrazek has had a rough stretch, no question, but it would be foolish to give up on him at this point in his career.

To play devils advocate, I believe Howard lost the job or was injured before the end of 2014/15. Then he was terrible last year. Howard was great this year until he got injured. So saying he is inconsistent, and when playing well generally gets injured is a pretty fair statement regarding Howard. This is coming from a Howard fan.

He's on a roll there. Has gotten a goal in our own net in each of the past games (when we've been scored against). When Kronner's back, please put Errorson on waivers instead of risking losing either Sproul or Jensen. Edit: lol, I read you like Hulk Hogan with the "you won't bait me brother" comment

Whenever I watch other teams it seems like they never stop moving their feet. The Wings are constantly standing will, and when they do move it's a very telegraphed shift.

Here is what I'd like to see between now and the start of next season: Trade Vanek at the deadline, whether in playoff contention or not. If he is willing to put pen to paper before the trade deadline to stick around on a hometown discount, see what can be worked out. Term must be short. Same goes for Smith. If he wants to get paid, move him by the deadline. Trade Green. I like the guy, but like Vanek, he has more value to this team with what he can bring in. Be aggressive in trying to move Howard and Ericsson. Retain salary if need be, but they got to go. Trade Sheahan if he is still here after the expansion draft. Who am I kidding? When he is still here after the expansion draft. Let Ott and Miller walk. Let Jurco play out the season. See what we have. Expansion draft protection: Zetterberg, Nielsen, AA, Mantha, Helm, Tatar, Nyquist, Dekeyser, Ouellet, Sproul, Mrazek Look into bringing a veteran dman in on a short-term deal in UFA. If a move for a top dman makes sense, do it. If not, roll with what they have. Take the best available dman with the first round pick. No more maxing out the cap for the sake of it. Shed salary, save cap space for when the team is back on the upswing. Keep options and cap space open for when the right deal for a dman does come along. Edit: So far so good

When comparing ourselves to other teams, the biggest difference I notice is our complete lack of confidence and willingness to attack. That and we can't seem to put the puck on net very well at all. We've got alot of the right pieces. Just can't seem to put them together. It's kind of like watching a game of hot potato.

I like Z. He is in a class himself. No need to ask me where I've been since 1979, let alone 14 years. I'd take 5 Z's over either gus or E.

Lefty you've got to realize there's a reason why multiple people call you out on your trade proposals time and time again and no one, who's rational, agrees with you. Your values are way off. It's not personal. You have a reputation for this so people are going to call you out. Just like the Franzen stuff.

if he was so established we wouldnt be having problems to trade him contract or not (we tried in the off season so teams had time to fix their cap) i do know mrazek has already done more than howard has and hes 7 years younger , howards never won anything or stolen a series and most likely never will ... howards been mediocre here for years and now sts hes had a great 20-25 games you want to keep him??? teams should always sell players when the stock is high, now (or the off season) is the time to trade him if we can lets not forget our defense has been awful this season , mrazek will bounce back he just needs to be fed more starts to get going, and we obviously need help on the back end as for howards no trade clause , hes already agreed to waive it , we just couldnt find a taker

It's getting hot in here when Mom gets snippy! I think its more our D than Mrazek. He made some great saves yesterday, I don't think there is too much he could've done about any of the goals. Watching them again, I'm pretty sure they are all goals that even the best goaler's give up at times. 1st goal Dekeyser shot it in the net...2nd goal Dekeyser was out-muscled and then it was a perfect placement where 99% of the time no goalie stops it above his catching hand over the shoulder, the 3rd goal we all know Ericsson was playing wiffle ball instead of knocking Okposo tot he ice or hell, at least chopping his stick in half, what are they going to do call you for a another penalty? Whooie Doo! You can't go down more than 4 on 3 and by time the first PK was over, the OT would have been over. Last night's game was all on our D. There wasn't one goal that Mrazek flubbed.

Mikey you have been the backbone of GDT creation for as long as I can remember and have put forward countless hours to support this site and put your creations selflessly into our community. We will drive forward and keep the tradition going strong, not many sites have the creative prowess that ours does when it comes to GDTs and Photoshop Wars, and it truly sets us apart from many other fan sites. With Nerve stepping up huge this season I need to do my part as well and get back on the ball of making some stronger efforts to keep up with it going forward. We still urge all of you, even if you have zero experience with it, to give it a shot and make your mark on the site and have your own GDT enshrined forever in the LGW archives. We've seen some great efforts in the past and i'd like to see more out of you guys, and i'll fire up my dusty software and try to develop something new here in the next couple weeks. Hey there everyone - I've been absent lately due to my schoolwork as well as my work on Detroit Sports Nation. Just so everyone knows, I'm still around and will be moving forward, but I'd really like to thank NerveDamage and MabusIncarnate for their work on our GDT's this year. You guys are the real MVP's. I'll still be around to make a GDT every now and again, but I think I speak for everyone when I say that we all truly appreciate the work they've put in to make LGW the great site it is. Hey, hey Hockeytown!!! Mike, your amazing gdts, the artwork and dedication you've put in them are the main reason I became a regular member around here. My first convo was with you, asking you about how could I contribute making gdts, since I felt it was one of the coolest things ever. From then on, I've gotten to know the amazing styles of flashyG's, Mabus', and all of the others that post them whenever possible. Going a lil personal here but, after a really tough and depressing phase, being around here changed my life and gave me something to keep going, and most importantly, the one thing I always needed, a hockey community, and now, a few dear friends.
