Ken Holland on 97.1 this morning.

Its funny how people are still trying to go with this narrative. 4.75 million for a guy who scored 52 points this year isn't a bad contract by a long shot. Not sure how Tatar's contract is bad considering he isn't even signed yet. Wanting to leave these two exposed while protecting Nosek should lose your right to ever judge Holland again lol.

    Detroit's first rounder.

I believe he was saying "if we don't land the #1 pick", meaning Patrick isn't an option. Colorado is in year 8 of that philosophy and just put up the worst record in the cap era. Florida is in year 20-something basically. Edmonton in year 10. Chicago and Pittsburgh are the only two to have any success, both took a lot more than 3 years and both have taken a lot more than just a few high picks. You have no idea what you're talking about. Even worse, you will never learn enough to even understand that you don't.

More of the same from Holland. His plan is to try to get into the playoffs next season, and he's still thinking about free agency? LOL This guy needs to go now. His expansion draft strategy should be to force Vegas to take a bad contract. He won't need any sweetener draft picks to do that. Nielson, Zetterberg, Athanasiou, Mantha, Tatar, Nyquist, Sheahan, Larkin(exempt) Oulette, Jensen, Green Mrazek With that protected list, it leaves Abdelkader, Helm, Glendening, Kronwall, Ericsson, DeKeyser, Sproul, Howard, Coreau. So they can take Sproul, hoping a change helps him reach his potential, but they will have other options on D with a decent NHL career in the books that can help right away. Don't see it. As for Coreau, he's shown he's not NHL ready, and they will have much better options in goal. I think they'd snag Howard before him if they were to take one of the two. Out of the veteran contracts, I see Helm or MAYBE Abdelkader taken. At the trade deadline, swap Green for picks and try to convince Nielson to waive his NMC and then shop him. I'm sure at 33 he'd like a shot at a Cup. He'll probably be impossible to move, but Holland should try. Ditto for Howard if he can stay healthy and play well. Again though, probably unmovable.

    Statues at JLA?

FWIW, on the last game broadcast it was mentioned that they would be finding a "place of prominence" for the statues in the new arena.

He said he hopes AA can continue to develope next year and become even more important to this team. He's being protected. He also said there will be lots of possible movement before the draft, so why would he leave him unprotected and possibly lose him for free, if he could trade him for a very nice return? Not that I think he'll do either, but most definitely if he's not part of your future trade him instead of giving him away to Vegas. I give Holland a lot of crappie, but I really don't think he's that stupid. Two of the dumbest things he could do that would stain his legacy here is lose AA to expansion and then draft a player in a position we don't need with a top 10 pick. Do you think he WANTS to get fired?

Hope the Make Me Laughs get swept so I don't have to listen to their idiot bandwagon fans for very long. There's too many of them here in Sudbury. I don't see them taking out the Caps either way though. The Leafs roster is full of first time playoff players, while the Caps are full of experienced playoff players. Matthews is good, but he's no Ovechkin. Holtby is also a better goaltender than Andersen. who may not even play in Game 1. McIlhenney against the Caps offense..look out! I wonder if my friend will burn his Leafs jersey again if they're eliminated, like he did when they blew that 4-1 Game 7 lead to Boston. Hahaha

Nielsen only has a nmc the first year. If a team is dumb enough to take him he can be moved once the new league year starts. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

So you are saying we either get to draft Patrick, Hischier, Glass, Liljeren, Vilardi, Makar, Necas, Mittlestadt, Tippett, Suzuki, Heiskanen, Rasmussen, Foote, Poehling OR Draft Petterson + never have to read another one of your cry baby posts again? Seems like a win win.

If missing one forward means you go from a top team in the division to missing the playoffs, you didn't do a good job building your roster.

Franchise 1: 2 cups in 5 years Franchise 2: zero cups, basically first round exit bound One fires their coach and GM and the other one is happy with status quo, go figure. Oh well if Chris doesn't bring in in Stevie next year it will be clear that he doesn't have the same drive for excellence like his dad did.

Assuming Team USA, wants an American coach... the options are slim. Most likely they want an NHL coach, familiar with many of the likely players. The coach's team must be out of the playoffs. AND The coach just want to take on the job... what other options out there fit the first 3 criteria... off the top, Bylsma, Hynes, Rowe
