Win it for the Konstantinov jersey with the '97 Cup patch I just got for Christmas! They need to take charge from the first drop of the puck. The Wings haven't commanded a game in much too long. I want to see the Big Red Machine tonight, boys, and I'm not talking about Calgary. (I think the jersey has upped the hostility level)

Not sure how I feel about this move. We're already pretty deep at center and Oates is past his prime.

    Nosek and Oulette recalled.

It hope he isn't wearing 82, that might make him channel the suckitude of Kopecky or break his collarbone.

Zetterberg is in - thank God, he was one the best players (if not the best) on the ice last game. E still game time decision, Mraz is in goal. Yippee!!

BELIEVE!! I believe, Wings, you've got this - no problem! Send Huddie and the rest of the Calgary elves packing tonight, give 'em a spanking they'll remember. I have NO doubt this is what will happen tonight. LGRW!!!

The idea that we may get to see Nosek is exciting. I hope to hell they show a better effort than they did against Vancouver, so LETS GO WINGS!

Nice, I will wear the Konstantinov jersey I have in honor of yours. Here's hoping the Wings pound the Flames into submission.

    Naming The New Arena Suggestion

First off welcome to LGW Jim! Man so many all-time-greats deserving to have the arena named after them. The obvious would be the Mike Illitch Plaza The Gordie Howe arena, Yzerman shrine, Lidstrom gardens. I just hope they aren't screwing this up but naming it something like (sponsor) Arena.

I looked for the button to LOVE this post but couldn't find it. You my friend are 100000% correct. Much less ticky tacky crap for a while and dig into some old school blast at the net and muck the puck hockey.... Get ugly

i think jurco should be 3rd line with sheahan and tatar or nyquist and bump nyquist or tatar to 2nd line with dats an richards or helm, probably richards cause he would be useless on the 4th line. i really dont like the line combos that he finally picked

Athanasiou played last night and is expected to play again tonight. I'm thinking he'll likely get the call again, although I'd love to see it go to Mantha. He's been one of the best players down there all season. For those that point to his early struggles this season and still wonder which Mantha we're going to get, his game hasn't changed one bit this season, other than him now finally getting some bounces go his way. The kid is playing with a ton of confidence right now, and when he's at the top of his game, he's a very dangerous player. I'd love to see what he can do for a couple games on Datsyuk's wing. Callahan took another puck to the face in practice yesterday, and will be out for another 4-6 weeks. Sucks for Cally and the Griffins and he's no longer an option to be called up. The only other option would be Nosek and I think he's still a bit of a long shot, especially with Athanasiou and Mantha being available. I haven't been all that impressed with Bertuzzi so far this season and it's not just his point totals either. He hasn't been playing with the same fire we seen from him late last season. Hopefully he overcomes it and gets going soon.

If he really fought McGrattan AND Neil then I forgive him for the Holtby incident.

Find it kinda ironic on how Minnesota claims him and now we have snow..

    That lazy Mantha....

Or maybe getting called out by the organization for effort, and then getting scratched, did exactly what it was supposed to and woke him up. Maybe *gasp* Jimmy D (the guy with 7 Cup rings) actually knew what he was doing.

Adam Oates being brought in to help PP

Agreed. Its like the Richards signing all over again.

improve the PP by acquiring the correct net front presence, I ike Abby, but he is not a PP specialist....AND SHOOT THE FRICKIN PUCK! Stop with the fancy pussyfoot passing! 9 times out of 10 Kronwall passes the puck even when he has time to lean into a one time slapper! Stop being so fancy, go back to basics! Shoot hard and shoot often! Pummel the net! You got Mike Green with a rocket shot. shoot it! A huge net front presence, and put a guy in the slot on opposite sides of the puck....shoot it! The main problem is not shooting and looking for that perfect play. Sure it looks beautiful when it works 10% of the time, but the other 90% its just one too many passess....BLAST THE PUCK! Even in front of the net, you're always told that when you shoot it, try to drive it through the back of the net, stop with the soft little taps at the puck! Simple....I'd teach them for half the cash Oatsie is getting! But its nice to see him (kind of)back within the organization.

Adam Oates being brought in to help PP

Is Oates not coaching anywhere? I love that Blashill is willing to look outside the organization for help. One of the things that I liked about Babcock was that he accumulated contacts throughout the league, and throughout other leagues, so he had plenty of minds to pick when necessary. Seems like that rubbed off on Blash.

    That lazy Mantha....

rant/ I don't understand the concept of rubbing people's opinions in their face when a situation changes on a message board where we are all a fan of the same thing. No one who thought Mantha wasn't cutting it *didn't* want him to turn it around. People weren't rooting for him to fail, they were pointing out that he was most certainly not living up to his hype--whatever the reason. I'm glad Mantha is doing well. I want him to become an absolute superstar. I'm glad he is starting to rock it. That doesn't change the fact that he previously wasn't, nor does it make the people who pointed this out idiots. I hope he has turned a corner, and we never have to wonder what the hell his problem is ever again. /rant
