Abby was going to be a career Red Wing one way or another. Holland could have either done it with one contract and prevented other teams from making offers and potentially running up his cost on subsequent deals, or he could have done it with multiple 2-3 year deals while matching his cap hit more closely to his year to year value. Either way works fine for me.

Nill missed the playoffs last year and "The Captain" has an unsigned Stamkos and an 8-8-2 record to start this season. Holland made the playoffs every year since being named GM and is 8-6-2 so far this year without one of the league's best players. I don't even know why I'm bothering to say this s***.

That save was made off the pad almost in the middle of the net. He was lucky to make the save, the player should have scored on the initial shot. The defense after the rebound was horrible.

That was not on Howard. He made a good save getting over, but no D support.

That's something I would love to see.. the best way to get players to stop would be through coaching imo.

According to war-on-ice, Nyquist has drawn 7 penalties this year. Pulks is 2nd with 5 (tied with Larkin). Probably not a coincidence. Like I said with Nyquist last year, the fines are a good start, but I think more needs to be done. Diving is effective, and will continue as long is it stays that way. Good chance for Blash to set a precedent here. Give Pulks a day off, tell him to knock that crap off.

Also, the thing that annoys me about articles like that is that it completely ignores the fact that contracts aren't given out for production only. Nobody bats an eye when a player with good production (but a bad attitude) makes a little less than they otherwise would. That just seems normal. But it seems crazy to everyone involved when a guy with modest point production (but a great attitude) makes a little more than he otherwise would. It's not the best contract on earth, but it's a far cry from the worst.
